Argentina meets "old enemy" again

Original title: draw for the Copa America 2020: Argentina kicks off against Chile

Argentina will kick off the 2020 Copa America in Buenos Aires with a heavy showdown with Chile.

In this year's third place race, Argentina won after Messi and Gary medel were sent off.

Although the draw took place on Tuesday, these countries have already known almost all of their opponents ahead of time and their teams will be divided into two groups at the Copa America in Argentina and Colombia next year.

Australia, which competed in the Copa America for the first time, was assigned to group A, with Argentina, Bolivia, Uruguay, Chile and Paraguay all in group A.

Another invited country, Qatar, will meet Colombia, Brazil, Venezuela, Ecuador and Peru. Brazil will enter the Copa America as a defending champion after its final home victory this year.

In the 2019 Copa America final, samba beat Peru 3-1, as well as Argentina and Paraguay on their way to promotion.

Qatar made its debut in this year's Copa America, drawing with Paraguay and then losing to Colombia and Argentina.

As another invited country, Japan also failed to win any games. In the first match, Japan defeated Chile 4-0, then drew with Uruguay and Ecuador.

Costa Rica, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama and the United States have been invited to the Copa America before, and Mexico has twice won second place.

After the Copa America 2020, the Copa America will be held every four years and the next tournament will be held in 2024.

In the Copa America, Uruguay was the most successful country, winning 15 times, one more than Argentina, which ranked second.

Messi hopes his country will lift the trophy next year, and the 2019 Golden Globe winner hopes to achieve some long-awaited success in the national team.
