AMD's market share in x86 CPU market will reach a new high, and the desktop market will break throug

In 2019, amd really turned over!

This year, amd launched 7 nm sharp dragon and Xiao Long processors. For the first time, it surpassed its old friend Intel in both performance and technology, which made the market share of AMD's x86 continue to increase and gradually eroded the opponent's territory.

Nomura Securities Analysts quoted the market research company mercury research's Q3 2019 x86 market report, saying AMD's share in the desktop, notebook and server markets rose again, creating a new high.

In the desktop CPU market, the share of AMD in Q3 reached 18%, and that in Q2 was 17.1%. However, the share of AMD in Q3 last year was only 13%, which increased by 5 percentage points in a year. At the end of this year, a breakthrough of 20% should not be in suspense. After all, 7Nm processor has great potential.

Compared with the desktop market, notebook and server are more difficult. Intel's advantages in this area are deeply rooted, but AMD is still grabbing share, although the speed is not as fast as the desktop.

In the mobile processor market, AMD's share has increased from 14.1% in the last quarter to 14.8% -- it should be noted that notebook CPU accounts for 70% of Intel's consumption level CPU revenue, and AMD's one percentage point grab is a large share.

In the server market, AMD's share increased from 3.4% in Q2 quarter to 4.4%, an increase of 1 percentage point.

However, this is Q3. In Q4 this year, AMD is expected to achieve 5.1% or higher share, while in 2020, AMD is expected to achieve 10% share, breaking double digits for the first time, which can never be seen before. We need to know that Intel's share in the server CPU market has been maintained between 95% and 99% all the year round.
