Don't touch the eight taboos in Thailand!

In recent years, more and more people choose to travel to Thailand, which can not only see the world abroad, but also avoid the crowded situation. With more and more tourists coming, Thailand has become China's largest tourist destination. So, what should be paid attention to when traveling in Thailand? Don't make a mistake after watching it!

Eight taboos in daily life in Thailand

First: say hello with your hands together

Thai people not only express their thanks, but also greet each other and say goodbye. The Buddhist ritual of "he Shi Li" has penetrated into every aspect of Thai people's daily life, and has been paid much attention to.

Thai people are not used to shaking hands, hugging and kissing. The etiquette of showing respect and greeting to people is the combination of ten rites. Hands together, on the chest, represents goodwill and respect. Don't point to people or things with your feet.

Second: the head is sacred and inviolable

Thais attach great importance to the head, think that the head is sacred and inviolable. If you touch the head of a Thai with your hand, it is considered a great insult.

If you hit a child on the head with your hand, you think that the child will be sick; when you sleep, you should avoid facing the west, because sunset symbolizes death. When you pass something to another person, don't pass it over his head.

Third: don't be too intimate

When you come to Thailand, you will find that few people behave intimately in public, because in Thailand's ideology, intimacy in public is an act of disrespect for others.

Another point is that you can't lose your temper in public places. Thailand belongs to a Buddhist country. They think that the Buddha is watching the world. When you lose your temper, it's blasphemy against the Buddha. When you are angry, people next to you will stare at you in surprise.

Fourth: don't tip with coins

Coins represent things of little value. If you use coins when you tip, it will mean contempt for the other party and disrespect the service giver. Therefore, in Thailand, it is recommended to use paper money for tipping.

In Thailand, coins are generally given to beggars. They can also be used to buy things in markets and supermarkets.

Fifth: dress neatly when you enter the temple

Buddhism is the national religion of Thailand. When visiting temples in Thailand, the most important thing is to dress neatly. Men should not wear shorts and women should not wear short skirts. There is really no way to buy a gauze outside the temple to cover the leg position. For men and women, don't wear sleeveless tops. Take off your shoes when you enter the main hall, and pay attention not to step on the threshold.

Monks should be respected and courteous. Women should not touch monks. If they need to present items, they should ask men to do it for them or put them directly on the table.

Sixth: pay attention to color taboo

In Thailand, the name of the dead was written in red on the coffin. The signature in red means that the man is dead.

Brown is also taboo in Thailand. Purple represents gay men. Heterosexual men generally avoid wearing purple clothes.

Seventh: keep your left hand clean

Thai people think that people's left hand is not clean, can only be used to take some unclean things, so important things with the left hand will attract disgust.

They eat with their right hand and hand things to others to show respect. If you have to use your left hand, you should say 'left hand, please forgive me'.

Eighth: no gambling

Thailand is a country that forbids gambling but not sex. The government thinks that gambling will destroy a family, so gambling is forbidden in Thailand. Even in the hotel room, visitors are not allowed to play mahjong gambling, otherwise they will be punished for violating Thai laws.

If you gamble in Thailand, you will face 500 to 5000 baht and three months to three years in prison. Therefore, if you want to travel smoothly, do not gamble in the hotel room.
