1. Longtan Grand Canyon
The first stop of self driving tour is Longtan Grand Canyon in Xin'an County of Luoyang City. This is a Gorge Scenic Area with hongyanzhang Valley Group as the main geological and geomorphic landscape. The gorge is beautiful, the valley is secluded, the wall is ten thousand Ren, and the pool and waterfall are connected with the Pearl.
There are numerous scenic spots in the valley, such as the peerless Tianbei, which is more than 50 meters high. It is a huge collapsed rock block, towering on one side of the canyon, tall and majestic. Looking up from different angles, the shape of the eagle, the bird, the fish or the stele is endowed with infinite beauty by nature.
There are also six natural mysteries in the area: "water flows to high places, Buddha light Luohan cliff, giant fingerprints, heavenly book on stone, butterfly spring and immortal footprints.". There are also such wonders as the spring and Autumn Period on the stone, the wenggu in the Yinyang pool, the ripple stone in the Five Dynasties, the heaven and earth breaking, the Tongling alley Valley, the magpie welcoming guests, and the silver chain hanging in the sky.
2. Longmen Grottoes
Located on both sides of Yi River in Longmen Town, Luoyang City, Longmen Mountain and Xiangshan Mountain were excavated in the Northern Wei Dynasty. After nearly 400 years of large-scale excavation, they are one of the four major Grottoes in China.
There are 2345 caves and niches, more than 2800 inscriptions and more than 100000 statues. The largest Buddha statue is 17.14 meters high and the smallest one is only 2 cm high. It is highly accomplished and worth seeing by self driving tourists.
3. Laojunshan jiguandong
Laojun Mountain is located about 3 kilometers southeast of Luanchuan County, Luoyang City, with an altitude of 2297 meters. It was originally named Jingshi mountain. Because Laozi was a hermit here, he was honored as the supreme Laojun by Taoism, and was given the name of Laojun Mountain by Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty. Laojun Mountain has a unique 'slippery peak forest' landform, spectacular stone forest, lush trees and picturesque natural scenery. Because of the Taoist holy land, there are many existing temples, among which the peak Laojun temple is the largest. It is said that there is Wudang Jinding in the South and Laojun Tieding in the north.
Jiguan cave is located in Luanchuan County of Luoyang City, about 3 kilometers west of the city, on the hillside of Jiguan mountain, with an altitude of 1021 meters. It is a large limestone cave with karst landform. The depth of Jiguan cave is 5600 meters, with an ornamental length of more than 1800 meters, five layers up and down, and a drop of 138 meters. There are many stalagmites and stone pillars in the cave, with different shapes.
4. Hongqiqu Taihang Grand Canyon
The red flag canal is located in the Taihang Mountains of Linzhou City (formerly Linxian County), Anyang City. It was built by people in Linxian County in the last years under extremely difficult conditions to lead Zhangzhou into the forest. It is called "artificial Tianhe". For this project, people spent 10 years, leveling 1250 mountain tops and digging 211 tunnels. The spirit of the red flag canal is worth learning.
Taihang Grand Canyon is also located in Linzhou City, Anyang City. To be exact, it is the South Taihang, because the North Taihang is located in Shanxi Province. The South Taihang gorge in Linzhou city is a 50 km long and 1.5 km wide deep canyon cut by the Lushui River, a tributary of Zhuozhang River, in the Linzhou mountains. The typical Zhangshiyan landform is on both sides of the gorge, with staggered platform walls and strange valleys and peaks, forming a grand grand canyon scenery.
5. Yin Ruins
Located in Xiaotun village, Yindu District, Anyang City, it is the capital site of the late Shang Dynasty. It is the first capital that can be verified by Archaeology and oracle bone inscriptions.
The Yin Ruins are composed of the Yinxu mausoleum site, the Yinxu Palace temple site, and the Huanbei shopping mall site. The overall layout is strict, with the Yinxu Palace temple site in Xiaotun village as the center, and distributed in a ring along the two sides of the Huan River.
6. Baiyun Mountain
Located in the hinterland of Funiu Mountain in the south of Song County, Luoyang City, there are 37 peaks with an altitude of more than 1500 meters. Yuhuangding is the first peak of Baiyun Mountain with an altitude of 2216 meters. It is one of the best places to watch the sunrise and the sea of clouds. You can't miss the self driving tour.
