What is the altitude of Wudaoliang? Why is Wudaoliang called the forbidden zone of life?

On the Qinghai Tibet line, there is a place called "forbidden zone for life". Its name is Wudaoliang. It is located in the high mountain area of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, with high altitude, cold climate, snow all the year round, less vegetation, thin oxygen and high mercury content in soil. Therefore, it has a daunting description. So why is this place called the forbidden zone of life? What's the altitude of Wudaoliang?

Wudaoliang is about 289 kilometers away from Golmud, with an altitude of 4665 meters. Wudaoliang is under the jurisdiction of qumalai county. Except for military station, pumping station, locomotive depot, weather station, protection station and highway section, there are no settled residents here. Like many long-distance highway relay stations, the Qinghai Tibet highway passes through the middle of the town, with restaurants, car repair shops and gas stations on both sides of the highway. Wudaoliang has restaurants, car repair shops, gas stations, hotels, clinics and shops.

Wudaoliang, freezing wolf, on Wudaoliang, it's hard to see father and mother.

Wudaoliang is one of the places where high-level rebellion is most likely to happen. I remember that every time I take the train to Tibet, I always meet high-level rebels at the place from Golmud to Tanggula pass. I can't accurately locate whether I am passing Wudaoliang, but Wudaoliang is known as the forbidden zone of life. There is a classic saying to describe the bad situation here: when I get to Wudaoliang, I cry my father I don't know if the lorry drivers who turned over the road are high. I just met a lot of lorry drivers on this section of the road. Maybe there was no one on the car, only the cold lorries lying on the side of the road

Wudaoliang is known as the "forbidden zone of life". Another reason is that the altitude and climate here are prone to high altitude reaction.
