According to the decision of the Dunhuang Academy's Mogao Grottoes opening management committee, the Mogao Grottoes will be open to tourists from 07:30 on July 8.

Earlier on the 7th, due to the impact of heavy rainfall, 9 km of the road leading to the Mogao Grottoes was destroyed, and the only road to the grottoes was interrupted. Now, all efforts are being made to repair it. To ensure the safety of cultural relics and tourists, the Mogao Grottoes was closed on July 7.

According to Xinhua News Agency on the 7th, the rainfall process that began on the afternoon of the 3rd has affected 228000 people in Nanchang, Jiujiang, Shangrao, Fuzhou, Jingdezhen and other places. 6351 people have been relocated, 3746 people need emergency life assistance and 49 houses have collapsed.

According to the forecast of the central meteorological station, a new round of heavy rainfall will start, with heavy to heavy rain in most parts of the south of the Yangtze River, the West and north of South China, and Southern Guizhou from July 7 to 10.
