What is the standard for children's tickets? How do tourist attractions define children's tickets?

Whether the standard of children's tickets depends on their age or height has always been a controversial issue. As far as the train children's tickets are concerned, many people suggest that it should be based on their age, because children nowadays are well nourished and grow tall. However, at present, children's tickets for trains, airplanes and scenic spots are all based on height. So, how to calculate children's tickets to scenic spots?

New changes have taken place in Hunan Province

From April 10, Hunan Province will formally implement the "Hunan Province scenic spot ticket and related service price management measures" (hereinafter referred to as the "measures"), which is valid for five years.

Compared with the trial version issued in 2016, the biggest change is that the key scenic spots in Hunan Province have relaxed the age of free tickets, from 'children under 6 years old (excluding 6 years old) or 1.3 meters (including 1.3 meters) and the elderly over 70 years old (including 70 years old) changed to' children under 14 years old (excluding 14 years old) and the elderly over 65 years old (including 65 years old).

Compared with the trial version released in 2016, Article 11 of the measures, which is officially implemented, emphasizes that scenic spots that are free of charge should be announced to the public in a timely manner, and no other pricing procedures are required. The price of tickets and transportation services of newly-built scenic spots can be set for trial use, and the trial period shall not exceed 2 years. Before the expiration of the trial price, the formal price should be set according to the trial situation of the scenic spot and the hearing procedure.

At the same time, Article 17 of the measures stipulates that all kinds of temporary exhibitions held in the scenic spot are free in principle. If additional tickets are required, the price of temporary tickets shall be reported to the price department one month before the temporary exhibition.
