How long does Thailand extend the visa free time? A list of visa application ways in Thailand

Nowadays, traveling abroad is becoming more and more popular. Many people like traveling abroad. With the improvement of people's living standard, traveling abroad is no longer difficult. In recent years, more and more people go abroad to travel. We all know that visas are required for overseas tourism. In recent years, many countries have implemented visa free or visa free policies for Chinese tourists. Now is the best time to travel to Thailand. Can we still implement visa free policies for Thai tourists?

On April 24, the Thai cabinet meeting decided to extend the visa free period for another six months, from April 30 to October 31 this year.

Thailand's latest visa free landing fee policy began on November 15, 2018, when the deadline was January 13, 2019. This policy is applicable to 21 countries and regions including China. The visa free landing fee is 2000 baht per person, about 400 yuan, and the visa free landing time in Thailand is 15 days.

Since then, in order to attract more tourists to Thailand during the Chinese Spring Festival and songgan Festival, the above period has been extended to April 30 this year. Due to its remarkable effect in attracting tourists and increasing tourism revenue, it was decided to postpone it again.

According to data from Thailand Immigration Bureau and Tourism Department, during the period of exemption from landing visa fee, the number of tourists to Thailand increased by 83% year on year, and the number of tourists entering Thailand by air increased by 12%. Although the policy caused the government to lose nearly 3 billion baht of visa fee income, it added 104.6 billion baht to Thailand's tourism industry.

During the free landing visa fee period, Thailand has also launched a new electronic landing visa system, through which passengers can log in to the official website to fill in information, pay fees and obtain pre approved e-visa. When entering Thailand, they can directly go to the e-visa special channel in the landing visa area and get e-visa without waiting.

However, the service is suspended from 00:01 a.m. Bangkok time on April 23, 2019, because the system will be upgraded, and the electronic landing sign service will be resumed after the system upgrade.

Therefore, there are two ways to apply for Thai visa at present:

One is to apply for a visa through the embassy and consulate of Thailand in China. The visa fee is required. After landing in Thailand, the customs can be cleared soon

Second, enjoy the current visa free policy. Due to the huge number of applications, it may take a while to wait at the Thai airport.
