What is the new attraction of the Forbidden City? More than 2000 Ming and Qing furniture storage exh

On August 19, the Palace Museum opened to the public. This is another special exhibition hall opened by the palace museum after the ceramics hall, painting and calligraphy hall and other special halls. The exhibition hall of the first phase of the open furniture museum is located in the area of nandaku near the Wuying palace and the southwest corner of the Forbidden City. In the exhibition hall, nandaku palace furniture of Qing Dynasty displays more than 300 pieces of Qing Dynasty furniture. So, this time, the Forbidden City has a new perspective. Who can it attract?

Zhao Yingying, member of the palace Department of the Palace Museum, introduced that the furniture museum is divided into three exhibition halls. In the first phase of the exhibition hall of nandaku area, in addition to the storage display of more than 300 pieces of Qing Dynasty furniture, there are more than 30 pieces of boutique furniture, mainly in Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong periods. According to the themes of courtyard, study and piano room, the scene design is combined with multimedia technology and lighting to form different cultural spaces for the audience's close appreciation. For example, the interior space of Emperor Qianlong in the Palace Museum's collection of Hongli painting of Qing Dynasty is the first and second pictures. Here, the "original scene reappearance" is the place where the reporters roam, as if crossing time and space, the cold furniture seems to have a cultural temperature.

The reporter learned that the Palace Museum has more than 6200 pieces of Ming and Qing Dynasty furniture, the largest in the world. Previously, these precious furniture and cultural relics have been hidden in the deep palace Treasury. In 2015, in order to further expand the exhibition area and increase the number of cultural relics, the Palace Museum determined the nandaku in the southwest corner of the Forbidden City as a special exhibition site for palace furniture, and rectified the nearly deserted nandaku area at that time. After 3 years of construction, now NANDA warehouse has become a modern professional cultural relics exhibition hall and warehouse.

There is also a bright spot in the furniture museum -- storage exhibition. The audience is like walking into a huge furniture supermarket. All kinds of palace furniture are displayed on special shelves for people to visit.

Shan Jixiang, the president of the Palace Museum, said that many of the Palace Museum's furniture and cultural relics are stored in the ground warehouse, with crowded space and poor preservation conditions. And because many halls in the hospital are displayed in the original state, and the form and content of the displayed furniture are relatively fixed, so a large number of Ming and Qing furniture that is not on the exhibition line is hard to see, and the storage exhibition is an effective means to relieve the inventory pressure and give more opportunities to the inventory of cultural relics. Through the storage exhibition of nandaku, the ancient buildings can be better repaired and utilized, the furniture and cultural relics can be better arranged, protected and displayed, and the audience can enjoy the exquisite materials, exquisite design and rich connotation of the palace furniture, so that the "Forbidden City trip" can add a new attraction that they have to go to.

According to the exhibition plan, the furniture museum is divided into three exhibition halls, the first and second phases are located in the nandaku area, and the third phase is located in the Nanxun hall area, which will gather more than 2000 pieces of Ming and Qing furniture, both as a storehouse and exhibition hall. The second phase of the furniture museum will be all warehouse display, and the third phase will mainly display Ming Dynasty furniture. In the future, it is possible to show more furniture treasures to the audience in rotation. After the completion of the exhibition, the third phase exhibition hall will be connected and form a new exhibition area together with Wuying hall and Baoyun building
