Do tourists get hurt when they encounter glacier collapse

Last Sunday, when a group of tourists were reveling in the beauty of the glacier, a thrilling scene happened. A group of tourists visited the breiamerkurjkull glacier on the southeast coast of Iceland. The glacier broke from the ice tongue and slowly drifted to the mouth of xiehu lake, with a depth of 300 meters and an area of 17 square kilometers. So, how are the tourists doing this time? Is anyone hurt?

The glacier appears in many films and commercials and was used as a stand in for Siberia in the movie Tomb Raider.

On Sunday (March 31), when more than 20 tourists gathered at the end of the ice lagoon at jagushalon, Iceland, to watch the majestic 'breidamerkurjokull' glacier, suddenly a tearing sound came through the cold air, and then a huge piece of ice began to fall from the glacier. As the huge ice fell into the lagoon, the tourists at the scene made a lot of screams.

On the same day, tourists are walking on the edge of xiehu lake, opposite to this magnificent glacier, as shown in the picture:

Suddenly, a part of the glacier suddenly collapses and falls into the water, forming a series of waves that rush to the tourists on the shore.

The whole scene seemed slow at first, but as the waves rolled in, a group of people screamed and fled to the high ground.

Fortunately, when the waves reached the lake, all the tourists evacuated safely, no one was injured, but from the water level below, we can see that if someone was washed down, the consequences are unimaginable.

In fact, some Icelandic tourism companies take tourists to watch the glacier collapse, because the process is quite exciting.

But ARI gumundsson, an Icelandic politician, has warned against sailing near a collapsed glacier or walking or staying on a nearby coast.
