What is the legend of Longmen Grottoes?

On the cliffs of the two mountains, there are countless honeycomb like grottoes. Longmen is located 13 kilometers south of Luoyang City on the Yishui river. Here, two mountains are facing each other. Yishui is flowing in the middle. It looks like a gate que, so it was called "yique" in ancient times. The verses left by the poets are excellent portraits of "interrupting the sky, chiseling the mountains to guide the flow of Iraq" and "towering two mountain gates, strangling a water show". It is also called "Longmen" because it is located in the south of the capital city of the Sui and Tang Dynasties. Bai Juyi, a poet of Tang Dynasty, once said: 'the victory of the four suburbs of Luodu is the head of Longmen'. Since ancient times, 'Longmen Mountain' has been regarded as the first of eight scenic spots in Luoyang, and it is the best scenic spot in Luoyang. 1. Songshan Shaolin scenic spot

3. Luoyang Baiyun Mountain Scenic Spot

4. Yaoshan Zhongyuan Buddha Scenic Area, Lushan County, Pingdingshan
