When it comes to Wuhou Temple, Sichuan people think of Chengdu, Shaanxi people think of Hanzhong, Henan people think of Nanyang. So, where is the Wuhou Temple in Hanzhong? Why is Wuhou Temple so famous in Hanzhong?
Wuhou Temple is a memorial hall for Zhugeliang, the Prime Minister of Shu Han in the Three Kingdoms. Zhuge Liang was granted the title of Marquis of Wuxiang before his death. After his death, his posthumous title was loyal to Marquis of Wu. Later generations honored him as Marquis of Wu and built temples in various places to commemorate him. The Wuhou Temple in Mianxian County of Hanzhong was built under the imperial edict of the emperor. It is the only officially authorized one. It can be called the first Wuhou Temple in China. It was built about 50 years earlier than Chengdu Wuhou Temple.
Wuhou Temple in Mianxian County of Hanzhong is rich in cultural relics, with many plaques, steles and ancient trees; it is a millennium old temple that represents the traditional architectural style of Southern Shaanxi, integrating ancient construction, garden, literature, art, calligraphy and painting, sculpture and color painting.
Entering Wuhou Temple scenic area, in front of the landmark building archway, there is a Qingshiban path, which used to connect Jinniu Road in the East and Baoxie road in the West. It was the only way out of Qin and into Shu in those days, parallel to the current 108 National Road.
Qin building is a gate building with a cave style, which is written as "high mountains and flowing water". There is a stone couch and an ancient Qin in the building, which is said to be the relics of Zhuge. It is also said to be built with "empty city plan scene".
On both sides of the piano building, there are still bell and drum towers. The orientation is different from that of the traditional bell and Drum Tower, that is, the East is the bell tower, and the west is the drum tower, taking the meaning of morning bell and evening drum. The bell tower is located in the west, while the drum tower is located in the East, which means that Zhuge Liang did not forget the Northern Expedition and unified the Han Dynasty, so the bell tower in the West and the drum tower in the East.
Wuhou Temple is a place to worship Zhugeliang, with many plaques hanging in it.
In the main hall of Wuhou Temple, there are statues of Zhuge Liang in the center of the shrine. They are feathers, fans, and silk scarves, crane cloaks and square trains. They are smart and lifelike.
Zhuge Liang is extremely intelligent and adventurous. In fact, he thinks twice before he acts. He is also a strategist and a winner! As a couplet in front of the main hall said: 'to help the Han people to be firm and prudent is to be able to undertake their business. Fu Longyu will dive deep and then soar to the sky'.
In the Wuhou Temple, there is a rare and rare flower tree, dryland, with a history of more than 400 years. According to historical records, it was planted by later generations in memory of Zhuge Liang, symbolizing Zhuge Liang's noble quality. It is the only one in China because of its unique and unrepeatable character. It is also the city flower of Hanzhong.
Dry lotus, full of branches in March, is red at the beginning, red and white in full bloom. Some people compare this plant to Huang Yueying, Zhugeliang's wife. She is very intelligent, but she suffers from ugly appearance, so she turns into a dry lotus, blooming every year and accompanies Zhugeliang.
The flower bud of dryland lotus, which goes through summer, autumn and winter, is commonly known as "October pregnancy". It will open in March next year. The opening time is around the "March 8th Festival". It is known as "women's flower", which wins more women's love.
The dry lotus period is relatively short. It is said that people who can see the blooming of dry lotus will be happy and healthy in the next year. So for more than 100 years, people who come to pray when the dry lotus flowers are blooming come in an endless stream and become the most tourists in Wuhou Temple.
