Founded in 908 ad, Yongquan temple in Gushan of Fuzhou has maintained the layout of Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty. Twenty five halls are cleverly distributed among ancient trees and mountains.
After entering the mountain gate, it does not go directly to the Tianwang hall, but passes through the orchid garden, nianhanliao, Huilong Pavilion, luohanquan, thousand Buddha pagoda, and extends to the temple gate with a stone path. The main buildings such as the Tianwang hall, Daxiong hall, and the Dharma hall are gradually raised by nestling against the mountain slopes of the valley.
