What cities are there in Xinjiang?
1. Urumqi
As of December 2017, the city has seven districts and one county under its jurisdiction: Tianshan District, shaibak District, Xinshi District, Shuimogou District, Toutunhe District, Dabancheng District, Midong district and Urumqi county
2. Karamay
As of 2017, it has four administrative regions, Karamay, Dushanzi, Baijiantan and Urho, with a total area of 7733 square kilometers and a population of more than 450000.
3. Turpan
As of October 2017, Turpan has a total area of 70000 square kilometers, governing Gaochang District, Shanshan county and tuokesun County, 33 townships (towns, streets and fields), 171 administrative villages, 963 villagers' groups and 65 communities.
4. Hami City
As of 2016, Hami governs Yizhou District, Balikun Kazak Autonomous County and Yiwu county.
5. Aksu Region
As of December 2016, Aksu District governs 8 counties of Kuche, Xinhe, Shaya, Baicheng, Wensu, Awati, Wushi and Keping, and takes charge of Aksu city

6. Kashi Region
As of October 2014, Kashgar has jurisdiction over one county-level city, 10 counties and one Autonomous County: Kashgar City, Shufu County, Shule County, Yingjisha County, yuepuhu County, Jiashi County, Shache County, Zepu County, Yecheng County, Maigaiti County, Bachu county and tashkurg Tajik Autonomous County.
7. Hotan District
As of 2015, Hotan District has jurisdiction over 1 county-level city: Hotan City, 7 counties: Hotan County, Moyu County, Pishan County, Luopu County, Cele County, Yutian County and Minfeng County.
8. Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture
As of 2005, Changji Prefecture has jurisdiction over two county-level cities, four counties and one Autonomous County: Changji City, Fukang City and Manas County, Hutubi County, jimusar County, Qitai County and Mulei Kazak Autonomous County.
9. Bortala Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture
As of December 2012, Bortala has two county-level cities and two counties.

10. Bayingolin Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture
As of December 2005, Bazhou has eight counties and one city under its jurisdiction, including Korla City, Luntai County, Yuli County, Ruoqiang County, Qiemo County, Yanqi County, Hejing County, Heshuo county and Bohu county.
11. Kizilsu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture
By the end of 2001, Kizilsu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture had jurisdiction over one county-level city and three counties, namely, Atush City, Aktau County, Wuqia county and AHEQI county.
12. Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture
Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture is the only sub provincial autonomous prefecture in China. As of 2014, Ili Prefecture has jurisdiction over Tacheng district and Altay District, with three county-level cities, seven counties and one autonomous county directly under the Central Government: Yining City, Kuitun city, Horgos City, Yining County, Chabuchar Xibe Autonomous County, Huocheng County, Gongliu County, Xinyuan County, Zhaosu County, Tex county and nilek county.
13. Tacheng District
As of 2013, Tacheng district has jurisdiction over two county-level cities, four counties and one Autonomous County: Tacheng City, Wusu city, Emin County, Yumin County, Tori County, Shawan County and hebukesaer Mongolian Autonomous County.
14. Altay
As of 2009, Altay district has jurisdiction over 1 county-level city: Altay City; 6 counties: burjin County, Habahe County, Jimunai County, Fuhai County, Fuyun county and Qinghe County.
