Wenchang tower is the top Pagoda in southern Guangxi. It is located in the southern suburb of Hepu County, Guangxi, 2.6km away from Beihai city. It was built in the 41st year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1613), more than 300 years ago. The tower is octagonal, about 36m high, 8.1m tower base, 2.6m inner diameter and 2.75m wall thickness. Wenchang tower is named after the southern dinghuo civilization. In ancient times, it was a good place for elegant scholars and poets to go outing and climb high.
