Shanghai 1-day Tour

Centennial Bund

When it comes to the Bund, people often think of many adjectives, an inch of land and an inch of gold. Tourists will take a group photo at the viewing platform and the Oriental Pearl, and will find the right location to photograph the night scene. However, few people have discussed the historical vicissitudes of the Bund.

The Bund is actually very big, not just Zhongshan East Road. Although the Bund source surrounded by Suzhou River and Huangpu River is not as famous as the World Expo, it still hides many epoch-making classical buildings.

Shiliyangchang Nanjing Road

Nanjing road starts from the Bund in the East and Jing'an Temple in the West. It is divided into East and West roads. East Road is the first commercial street in the Far East, and west road is the top commercial street in Shanghai

Nanjing Road in Shanghai originated from the garden alley in 1851 and extended to Zhejiang Road in 1854, commonly known as the main road. It extended to Tibet road again in 1862 and was officially named Nanjing Road in 1865. At the end of the Second World War in 1945, the concession was abolished. The government of the Republic of China named Nanjing Road as Nanjing East Road and Nanjing West Road respectively.
