It is said that Shaoguan is the birthplace of Shixiang culture for more than 2000 years. There are many historical landscapes with rich cultural heritage here, as well as many ancient folk customs, which are worth exploring here. Then, what are the interesting scenic spots in Shaoguan?

1. Elegant building

Fengcai building is located next to the postal building of Fengcai Road, Zhenjiang District, Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province. It looks at Wushui in the West and Zhenjiang in the East. It was built by Qian Yong, the governor of Shaozhou during the Hongzhi period of the Ming Dynasty in memory of Yu Jing, a famous Minister of the Northern Song Dynasty. It has been rebuilt repeatedly. Because Yu Jing has the reputation of "more colorful moving towards the end of the Dynasty", it is named Fengcai building. The ink of "elegant style building" written by Chen Baisha, a scholar of the Ming Dynasty, is flexible and vigorous, natural and handsome, engraved into a stone plaque and hung high in the gatehouse. The elegant building is about 22 meters high, with double eaves and green tiles, triple cornices and warped corners on the top, and a small dome decorated with Chinese ornaments in the middle. The whole building is magnificent, unique and imposing. It is a landmark building in Shaoguan City.

2. Shaozhou University Palace

Shaozhou Prefecture School Palace (i.e. Shaozhou Confucius Temple) is located in Fengcai road in the downtown area of Shaoguan, Guangdong Province, adjacent to the Fengcai building, a landmark building in Shaoguan. According to historical records, Shaozhou Prefecture School palace was built in the third year of Jingde in the Northern Song Dynasty (AD 1006). It was destroyed by fire in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty and rebuilt immediately. Since then, it was maintained during the reign of Kangxi, Yongzheng, Daoguang and Tongzhi of the Qing Dynasty. Dacheng hall is the only existing Ming Dynasty building in Shaoguan. Dacheng Hall of Shaozhou University palace was announced as the fifth batch of provincial cultural relics protection units by the provincial general office. Shaozhou Fuxue palace was a group of solemn and majestic buildings. Including Minglun hall, east-west veranda, Dacheng hall, Chongsheng hall, Zunjing Pavilion, Minghuan temple, Xiangxian temple, etc., covering an area of nearly 10000 square meters. It was once the most important official education institution in northern Guangdong, with a school system divided into civil and military.

3. Shaoguan Furong Mountain National Mine Park

With a total area of 21.7 square kilometers, Shaoguan Furongshan National Mine Park integrates geological disaster control, ecological and environmental protection, inheritance of mining culture and leisure and tourism functions. It is one of the first 28 national mine parks in China. Furong mountain is a famous historical and cultural mountain in Shaoguan. According to historical records, Taoists practiced Taoism and alchemy here in the Western Han Dynasty 2100 years ago, and monks built temples here in the Tang Dynasty. It is an amphibious holy land for Taoism and Buddhism, and many poems were left by scholars and scholars of all dynasties. Furong mountain is also rich in mineral resources. It once had a glorious history of coal and limestone mining. Up to now, there are still a large number of mining relics on the mountain.

4. Shaoguan Museum

Shaoguan museum is located in Gongye West Road, Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province. It is a comprehensive museum focusing on local historical records. The new museum was completed in March 2001, covering an area of 17300 square meters. It is not only the key cultural facility with the largest investment and scale by Shaoguan municipal government in recent years, but also the landmark building of Shaoguan. Shaoguan Museum collects and displays the historical relics unearthed in the city, the revolutionary relics left over from the revolutionary war and other handed down cultural relics. At present, there are more than 5000 pieces of various collections, most of which are historical relics unearthed in the city. Among them, a batch of ceramic model vessels in the Eastern Han Dynasty and the two Jin Dynasties are the most precious, which truly and vividly reflect many aspects of social life at that time.

5. Nanhua Temple

Nanhua temple is located on the Bank of Caoxi, 7km southeast of MABA Town, Qujiang District, Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province, about 24km south of Shaoguan City. Nanhua temple is one of the famous Buddhist temples in China. It is the birthplace of Huineng, the sixth ancestor of Zen, to promote the "Southern Zen". Nanhua temple was built in the first year of Tianjian (AD 502) of Emperor Wu of Liang Dynasty in the northern and Southern Dynasties. In the third year of Tianjian, the temple was completed, and Emperor Liang Wu gave it the name of 'Baolin Temple'. Later, it was renamed 'Zhongxing Temple' and 'Faquan Temple', and in the first year of Kaibao of the Song Dynasty (AD 968), the emperor Taizu of the Song Dynasty granted 'Nanhua Buddhist temple', and the temple name has been followed up to now. Because the sixth patriarch of Zen is here to promote Dharma, it is also called the sixth patriarch Taoist field. Nanhua temple, with a construction area of more than 12000 square meters, is composed of Caoxi gate, Fangsheng pool, Baolin gate, Tianwang hall, Daxiong hall, sutra Pavilion, Lingzhao tower, liuzu hall and other buildings. In addition to the Lingzhao tower and the sixth Ancestor Hall, the buildings were rebuilt by Xuyun monk after 1934.

6. Luokeng prairie

Luokeng prairie is located in Luokeng, Qujiang District, Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province. There are mountains, water, cattle and birds. The so-called prairie is actually the grassland in Luokeng reservoir area, which is under the jurisdiction of Shaoguan. It is adjacent to Zhangshi town in the East, Yinghong town and Hengshitang town of Yingde City in Qingyuan in the south, Dabu township of Ruyuan County in the West and Jiangwan Town and Longgui town in Wujiang District in the north. The annual average temperature in Luokeng is 19.10 ℃, the temperature difference between day and night is large, and the rainfall is rich, belonging to the subtropical monsoon climate. It is a high mountain grassland, interspersed in the rolling mountains, with a unique style. Now there is no development, but because donkey friends go more and are more mature, it is a good place for barbecue and camping. There is a parking lot, a lotus pond and farm dishes.

7. Jinjiling

Jinjiling, located in Pingshi Town, the first town in the south of the north gate of Guangdong Province, is 103 kilometers away from Shaoguan City and under the jurisdiction of Lechang City. It is named because there is a huge stone on the northwest peak of the mountain, which looks like a rooster, looks up to the north and wants to cry. It is one of the eight scenic spots in Guangdong Province. Climbing up the Jinjiling gate at the central street of Pingshi Town, you can see the zigzag peak of Danya cliff. The zigzag peak is more than 350 meters long and 3-6 meters wide. It looks like a huge barrier. It is looking at the wall, looking at Chengfeng and overlooking Jackie Chan.
