ZTE clarifies 5g business time information dissemination error

Recently, media reports reported that ZTE announced that China would start commercial 5G nationwide in October 1st, and that the Chinese mainland's base stations will be provided by HUAWEI, ZTE and Ericsson. In response, ZTE clarified on its microblog that it did not express its views on China's 5g business time.

In May 21st, media reports said that ZTE announced that China plans to start commercial 5G nationwide in October 1st, and that the Chinese mainland's base stations will be provided by HUAWEI, ZTE and Ericsson.

According to people familiar with the matter, China may issue 5g licenses to telecom operators this year instead of the temporary licenses previously planned, and may start to commercialize ultra high speed wireless technology nationwide in the near future, the media said.

On the afternoon of the 21st, ZTE's official microblog issued a statement to clarify this, saying that ZTE did not express its views on China's 5g business. There was a misunderstanding in the process of information dissemination.

Earlier, Xu Feng, President of ZTE's terminal business unit, said in an interview that he hoped to return to the mainstream mobile phone brand queue with the help of 5g technology. Xu Feng said that at present, ZTE's 5g mobile phone product status has reached the level of commercial use, the network of operators has been tested, and the outfield optimization has ended. ZTE is basically ready to launch 5g mobile phones, waiting for the start of operators.
