Which children's Day is this year? What is the origin of children's day

June 1 every year is our Chinese children's festival, but many people may not have thought about it. What's the number of children's day we have now? When does children's day begin? Let's learn about it.

What children's Day is 2019: the 69th

On March 30, 1950, the old April 4 children's Day was abolished. On June 1, 1951, the international children's Day was named. 1951 is the first children's day, so 2019 is the 69th.

International Children's Day is scheduled for June 1 every year. In commemoration of the leditzer massacre on June 10, 1942 and all the children who died in the war all over the world, we oppose the maltreatment and poisoning of children, and safeguard the rights of children.

In November 1949, the International Federation of democratic women held a council meeting in Moscow. Representatives of China and other countries angrily exposed the crimes of killing and poisoning children by imperialists and reactionaries in various countries. The meeting decided to take June 1 every year as the international children's day. It is a festival set up to protect children's rights of survival, health care, education and custody, to improve children's lives and to fight against child abuse and poisoning. At present, many countries in the world set June 1 as children's day.

The origin of children's Day

The establishment of international children's Day is related to the liditzer massacre, which happened during World War II. On June 12, 1942, German fascists shot and killed more than 140 male citizens over 16 years old and all their babies in the Czech village of Lidice, and escorted women and 90 children to the concentration camp. The houses and buildings in the village were burned down, and a good village was destroyed by German Fascism.

After the end of the Second World War, the world economy was depressed, thousands of workers lost their jobs and lived in hunger and cold. The situation of children is even worse. Some of them are infected with infectious diseases and die in batches. Some of them are forced to work as child labourers, suffering from torture, and their lives are not guaranteed.

In November 1949, the International Federation of democratic women held a council meeting in Moscow to commemorate the Lidice massacre and all the children who died in the war all over the world, oppose the maltreatment and poisoning of children, and protect children's rights. Representatives of all countries angrily exposed the crimes of killing and poisoning children by imperialists and reactionaries in all countries.

In order to protect children's rights of survival, health care and education, and to improve children's lives, the conference decided to take June 1 as the international children's day. At that time, many countries agreed, especially the socialist countries

In order to protect the rights and interests of children all over the world, the Executive Committee of the International Federation of democratic women held a meeting in Moscow in November 1949 and decided to make June 1 as the international children's day every year. After the founding of new China, the Administrative Council of the Central People's government stipulated on December 23, 1949 that China's children's day should be unified with the international children's day.
