(1) It was in the 1950s and 1960s that 'Zhonghua' brand cigarettes were designated by the Chinese government for entertaining Chinese and foreign guests. Every year, the foreign ministry ordered a batch of 'Zhonghua' brand cigarettes from Shanghai cigarette factory. The main specifications were 50 tins and 20 soft packs, which were used for domestic reception and distributed to Chinese embassies abroad to entertain guests. In order to facilitate transportation and ensure the quality and taste of 'Zhonghua' brand cigarettes, special attention should be paid to the packaging requirements. For example, every ten 'Zhonghua' brand soft bags are sealed with galvanized iron boxes for oxygen extraction and vacuum, and every ten iron boxes are set with wooden cases which are fastened with iron sheets for use by embassies abroad for one year.
