May 1 toll road free in 2019
On April 28, the Ministry of transport held a regular press conference in April 2019. Wu Chungeng, a spokesman for the Ministry of transport, said that according to the implementation plan for the exemption of minibus tolls on major holidays, toll roads across the country will continue to be free of minibus tolls during the four-day holiday of May 1 this year. The specific time will be from 0:00 on May 1 to 24:00 on May 4. The scope of free vehicles is passenger vehicles with less than 7 SEATS (including 7 seats) on toll roads, including motorcycles allowed to drive on ordinary toll roads.
Since the cancellation of the May Day golden week in 2008, this year's May Day holiday has taken four days off for the first time. There will be a small peak of travel during May Day.
Gaode map, China Tourism Association, China Weather Network of China Meteorological Administration and more than 90 national traffic management departments recently released the "May 1, 2019 travel forecast report" (hereinafter referred to as the "report"). The report predicts that the peak time of national high-speed travel during May 1 this year is from 9:00 to 12:00 on May 1, among which the peak will appear from 10:00 to 11:00. On the last day of the holiday, 14:00-20:00 on May 4 is the return peak, and the peak appears from 16:00-17:00. The overall traffic pressure of the return is higher than that of the departure.
The report also predicts that the easily congested section of the National Expressway leaving on May 1 will be the Kunming section of g78 Shankun Expressway (Longsheng service area Malang toll station), with the congestion delay index of 7.9.
On the return trip on May 4, Shanghai section of G40 Shanghai Shaanxi Expressway (beihengyinhe Bridge Shanghai Yangtze River Tunnel) is easy to be congested.
In addition, the report points out that Guangzhou will become the most popular destination for travel during the May Day holiday this year. The other top ten popular tourist cities are Beijing, Suzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Chengdu, Tianjin and Xi'an.
