On April 16, according to the State Administration of market supervision and administration, BMW Brilliance Automobile Co., Ltd. and BMW (China) Automobile Trade Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of market supervision and administration in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the recall management of defective automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall management of defective automobile products, and decided to recall the defective automobile products from August 30, 2019 360001 vehicles in total:
BMW recalls some domestic BMW Brilliance
（1） From January 2, 2014 to October 16, 2017, BMW Brilliance Automobile Co., Ltd. recalled some domestic BMW Brilliance 118I, 218i, 220i, 316I, 318i, 318li, 320i, 320li, 328i, 328li, 330i, 330li, X1 and zinoro 1E, zinoro 60H vehicles, totaling 272880 vehicles.
（2） BMW (China) Automobile Trade Co., Ltd. recalled part of the imported BMW 116I, 118I, 120i, 125I, 130i, 218i, 220i, 318i, 320i, 323i, 325i, 328i, 330i, 335i, 340i, 420i, 425i, 428i, 430I, 435i, 440i, 520i, 528i, 530i, 535i, 540i, 550i, 640i, 650i, m135i, m140i, M2, m235i, m from April 5, 2000 to February 21, 2018 240i, m3, M4, M5, M6, x1, X3, x4, X5, X6, X5 m, X6 m and active hybrid X6 vehicles, a total of 87121 vehicles.
There is something wrong with the airbag of some BMW vehicles
The airbags of vehicles within the scope of this recall are equipped with ammonium nitrate gas generator without desiccant produced by Takata company. When the airbag is deployed, the gas generator may be damaged abnormally, which may lead to debris flying out and injure the personnel in the vehicle. BMW Brilliance Automobile Co., Ltd. and BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. will replace the airbag gas generator of the parts involved for free for the vehicles within the scope of recall, so as to eliminate potential safety hazards.
(Note: for some X5, X6, X5M, X6M vehicles, the involved part is the front airbag of the driver and front passenger; for other vehicles, the involved part is the front airbag of the driver. )
