This is the 15th consecutive year since 2005 that the state has adjusted the basic pension for enterprise retirees, and the fourth consecutive year since 2016 that the pension level for enterprise retirees and government institutions has been appropriately increased.

Who will benefit from the pension increase

The scope of basic pension adjustment this time is retirees of enterprises, government organs and institutions who have gone through retirement procedures according to regulations and received basic pension monthly before December 31, 2018.

The Ministry of human resources and social security said that when adjusting the basic pension, the scope will be determined as the retirees at the end of last year, so as to avoid the situation that the retirees in that year enjoy both the wage growth of last year and the adjustment of treatment of that year, so as to reflect fairness. This is also the consistent practice in previous adjustments to the basic pension.
