The mainland residents can hold new identity cards and apply for driving licenses in any area of the country. They can also renew, reclaim and examine driving licenses, and do not need to return to the registered residence. Residents of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan holding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan resident's residence permits can also apply directly for driver's license examination, replacement, renewal and examination in any place in the mainland, without having to submit other certificates.
