Compared with the 34 Hangzhou Asian Games initially determined at the 36th Asian Olympic Council plenary meeting held in September 2017, the 37 major events announced this time have added equestrian events in the Olympic Games, dragon boat, a non Olympic event, as a sub item of canoeing in the Olympic Games, and three new non Olympic events, including jujitsu, jujitsu and cricket.

Next, according to the new events (hip-hop, competitive rock climbing, surfing and skateboarding) proposed by the Paris Olympic Organizing Committee on February 21, and the competition events proposed by the Asian Olympic Council at the first meeting of the Coordination Committee of the Hangzhou Asian Games, the Hangzhou Asian organizing committee will discuss with the Asian Olympic Council and the Chinese Olympic Committee on the setting of follow-up events according to the project attributes and setting principles.

There are 9 non Olympic events, including martial arts, rattan ball, jujitsu, jujitsu, cricket, chess, roller skating, kabaddi and squash.
