According to the official wechat of the emergency management department, a forest fire broke out in lier village, Yalongjiang Town, Muli County, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province at about 18:00 on March 30. The fire caused 30 deaths, and many young post-90s and even post-90s firefighters were killed in the fire, which is heartbreaking.
On the afternoon of March 31, the firefighters were affected by the sudden change of wind force on the way to the transfer site, and suddenly encountered a mountain fire. 30 fire fighting heroes including Yang Dawa, Zou Ping and Bajin died.
According to statistics and verification, 27 comrades are members of Liangshan forest fire brigade. Among the 27, there were 4 cadres and 23 firefighters. There are 22 Han, 1 man, 1 Li, 2 Yi and 1 she. One was born after 1980, 24 after 1990 and two after 2000. The youngest was born in July 2000. There are 9 CPC members (including 1 probationary member), 11 members of the Communist Youth League and 7 young people.
According to the official microblog of Liangshan daily, Liangshan Prefecture Government held an executive meeting and decided to declare and assess the martyrs for Yang Dawa, Zou Ping, Bajin and other comrades. Another 27 officers and soldiers of Liangshan forest fire brigade who died in the forest fire fighting have been reported and assessed as martyrs through relevant channels.
