What month is Arbor Day? What is the origin of Arbor Day

When I was a child, I was still looking forward to the tree planting day. The school would organize all the teachers and students to plant trees for greening. Every student was looking forward to this kind of interesting collective activities. When I grew up, my impression of tree planting day seemed to be very thin. Only legal holidays would make the mood fluctuate. Having said so much, do you still remember the date of Arbor Day? Let's have a look with Xiaobian.

What day is Arbor Day

Tree planting day is a festival to publicize and protect trees according to the law and mobilize the masses to participate in afforestation activities. Tree Planting Day falls on March 12 of the Gregorian calendar every year. This year's tree planting day is also on Tuesday, March 12.

The origin of Arbor Day

China's tree planting day was initiated by Ling daoyang, Han'an, Pei Yili and other forestry experts in 1915. It was initially set at the annual Qingming Festival. In 1928, in order to commemorate the third anniversary of Sun Yat Sen's death, the national government changed the tree planting day to March 12. After the founding of new China in 1979, under the proposal of Deng Xiaoping, the sixth meeting of the Standing Committee of the Fifth National People's Congress decided that March 12 of each year should be China's tree planting day.
