It is reported that these exhibitions will show the charm of the 600 year old Forbidden City and the 95 year old Palace Museum from the aspects of historical relics, calligraphy and painting artifacts, palace culture, literati and scholars, festival customs, world civilization and archaeological discoveries, which will last until 2020. Dozens of exhibitions will be held in the main hall of the Meridian Gate and the East-West Yanyi building, Wenhua hall, Wuying hall, dongxiliugong, Shenwu gate, etc.
Among them, the Yangxin hall is planned to be completed and opened in October 2020, with the original exhibition as the main part. At the same time, the "Yangxin hall project protective repair achievement exhibition" will be held in xipeidian.

In September 2019, in order to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the people's Republic of China, the Palace Museum held a special exhibition of ancient Chinese flowers and trees in the main hall of the Meridian Gate and the exhibition hall of the East-West Yanchi building. The exhibition focused on the ornamental flower and plant cultural relics in the courtyard, including painting, utensils, embroidery and other categories, highlighting the natural, artistic and cultural attributes of flowers and trees. It's autumn, and flower exhibitions will be held in the palace.
In November 2019, the Palace Museum will hold a "Hongwu, Yongle, Xuande porcelain exhibition" in the main hall of the Meridian Gate and the East-West Yanchi building exhibition hall. The exhibition has about 500 pieces of exhibits, the largest in history. It will fully show the production level of the court handicraft industry in the early Ming Dynasty and the special features of the Royal utensils in this period.
In May 2020, Han Xizai's night banquet painting exhibition of figure paintings of past dynasties was displayed in the main hall of Meridian Gate and the exhibition hall of East-West Yanji building. Han Xizai's night banquet by Gu Hongzhong in the Southern Tang Dynasty depicts Han Xizai's complex mood in a series of long volumes. It is a masterpiece of ancient Chinese figure painting. This exhibition will focus on the painting of Han Xizai's banquet by Gu Hongzhong in the Southern Tang Dynasty, systematically combing and displaying the development of Chinese figure painting in the past dynasties.
In September 2020, the exhibition of "Qingming Riverside painting" and folk paintings of past dynasties will be held in the main hall of Meridian Gate and the exhibition hall of dongxiyanji building. Before this, "Qingming Riverside" exhibition once triggered the cultural phenomenon of "running in the Forbidden City", and this exhibition will enable the audience to clearly appreciate the wonderful pictures of the social life of the ancients, and have a more intuitive understanding of traditional Chinese culture.
In addition, the audience can enjoy a variety of exquisite porcelain by the end of 2020. In December 2020, the "Kang, Yong and Qian porcelain exhibition" was held in the main hall of the Meridian Gate and the East-West Yanyi building exhibition hall. The exhibition selected more than 500 pieces of ceramic ware and related cultural relics collected in the Palace Museum during the Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong periods of the Qing Dynasty.
