thangka is a form of painting art with distinctive characteristics in Tibetan culture in China. It is now an intangible cultural heritage. Attract the attention of many fans and collectors. So how to identify the authenticity of Thangka? What's the approximate price of Thangka? Friends who like Thangka come and have a look.

Appreciation of Thangka:

1、 The difference between painting Thangka and painting Thangka. With the development of science and technology, there are a lot of ink-jet (computer printing) thangkas. This kind of thangkas is easy to make. It only needs a line drawing to print the same many copies in a short time. This kind of production has affected the original artistic charm of Tangka, and it is also a fish in the market. The price of this kind of Tangka is generally around 500 yuan. This kind of Thangka began in Nepal, and is now common in Tibet, Qinghai and other places. The color of printed thangka is fuzzy and even, especially at the junction of facial features and other two colors. The canvas used for printing thangka is also much harder than that used for drawing Thangka, with the feeling of plastic oilcloth, which needs to be distinguished carefully with insight.

2、 Measurement. Measurement is the most basic and important factor to determine the quality of Thangka. Even small mistakes can affect the artistic value of Thangka. Now we will introduce it in the following four aspects.

1. Head measurement. The measurement of the head should be correct and symmetrical, and the face of the Buddha should not be drawn wide or long.

2. Five senses measurement. The five features of the Buddha statue should be symmetrical, the left and right sizes should be the same, and it should be painted in the right position of the face.

3. Body measurement. In addition to the limbs, the body can be measured correctly and symmetrically. The size of the hands and feet of the Buddha statues should be appropriate. Pay attention to the size of the fingers. The hands and feet should be flexible in drawing, and there should be no rigid or clumsy feeling. In particular, pay attention to the painting of the hands and feet of the multi armed and multi legged Buddha statues (such as the Vajra Vajra) without omission.

3、 In terms of lines. Good line is the key factor to determine value, which is divided into the following three aspects:

1. Body lines. The body lines should be hooked like hair (the lines should be thin and uniform in thickness), and should be smooth, and should not be crooked or forked.

2. Lines. Most of the clothing lines are curves, some lines should be hooked into '('), which shows the overlap and reality of the clothes.

3. Other lines. Generally, the lines of plant leaves should be hooked from the petiole to the tip of the leaf, and then to the tip of the leaf should be hooked to the opposite direction. In this way, the tip of the leaf seems to be rolled down, and the leaf seems to be alive. There is a flame around the main Buddha of Vajra (such as Vajra hand). The flame is basically in the shape of 's', so when the flame is hooked, in addition to the requirements of the clothing lines, the curved outer arc and the inner arc should be opposite, so that the hooked flame has vitality, and other lines only need to be smooth.

4、 Color. The color of thangka is determined by the painter's color matching (especially flesh color) and the level of coloring. The color should be even, and the joint of different colors should be perfect, without blurring.

1. Flesh color. The flesh color of the Buddha statue should be moderate, not too heavy, the dark degree of the muscles should be light, and there should be no face.

2. Five senses. The size of the five senses should be moderate and symmetrical, and the connection with the flesh color should be perfect. Especially the opening, which is the last process and the most difficult one in a Thangka. When opening eyes, the left and right eyeballs should be symmetrical, the size should be the same, and should be drawn in the middle of the eyes.

3. Cracks. Some of the Thangka color appeared cracks and discoloration, and some people called it old Thangka. In fact, the reason for this kind of phenomenon is that the color match of the painter is not good.

5、 Gold thread. The gold line determines the delicacy of Thangka. Gold thread is most common in clothes, halos around the Lord, plants, leaves and so on. In order to make Thangka delicate, the more complicated the patterns of gold thread on clothes are, the better. These patterns are small and complex. When you hook them, you should ensure that the patterns are clear and not fuzzy. Other requirements are the same as those of line.

6、 Momentum. The overall momentum of good thangka is often very good. Tangka with complex content often has a sense of distance and proximity. The good looks should be lifelike, like smiling and seeing what you have to say, showing kindness (compassion). The expression of anger should be ferocious.

Price of Thangka:

The general size of thangka is about 45cm & times; 60cm. The price of a thangka is determined by the factors such as the painter, content, size and materials of Thangka, which are also related to each other. There is no exact price for works of art like Thangka.

1. Painter. The fine thangkas of Painters (measurement, line, color, etc.) are generally around ten thousand yuan, some even tens of thousands, even those of painters are more than one thousand yuan.

2. Content. The content of complex (more characters, Vajra Dharma protection, etc.) is much more expensive than the content of simple, single.

3. Size. Apart from the general size (such as palm size or more than one square meter) due to the increase of painting difficulty, the price also increased.

4. Materials. In general, the pigments used in Thangka are advertising powder or traditional Chinese painting pigments, etc., while the expensive price of Thangka pigments painted with mineral pigments (Tibet natural ore plus ox bile grinding or other) is also higher than that of ordinary pigments.
