How to use the tampon correctly and how to use it for the first time

For girls, do you like to use sanitary napkins or tampons during menstruation? As a private necessity for women, many people feel embarrassed to say it, so how to use menstrual tampons? What are the precautions when using tampons for the first time?

What is a tampon?

As the name implies, it is a strip made of cotton material. When menstruation comes, someone will put it into the vagina about half a finger deep, so that it can act as a blood sucking towel.

Like sanitary napkins, tampons need to be replaced in a timely manner, and have different sizes and specifications of blood absorption.

At present, some domestic supermarkets and cosmetics chain supermarkets can buy tampons, online shopping is also a way.

What should I pay attention to before the first use?

When using it for the first time, it is recommended to choose a smaller size and a smaller blood volume, and try it when the menstrual volume is larger, so it is easier to put it in.

In addition, putting things in your vagina will inevitably cause tension and discomfort. It's a normal reaction, but nerves can make muscles tense, making it harder for the sliver to get into the vagina.

Don't panic. I hope you can relax after learning the following knowledge.

Take it easy first, and then the tampons.

Where should I put the tampon?

Come on, don't be shy. Let's see how many holes there are in the vulva.

You can take a mirror to see for yourself. The structure of our female vulva is about the same as the figure above.

The clitoris is at the front, with labia on both sides, and then there is a small hole in the back, which is the urethral orifice, from which we urinate; there is a hole in the back of the urethral orifice, which is the vaginal orifice. The vagina and then back, it's the anus, where our shit comes out.

Yes, the hole marked with yellow in the middle is the vaginal opening.

How to put the tampon?

In contrast, the catheter type tampon will be easier to put in, at the beginning, you can use this one.

The catheter type cotton strip is the sanitary cotton strip placed in the plastic tube. The general usage is: put the plastic tube into the vaginal opening, press down the exposed end of the plastic tube, and then gently take the plastic tube down.

Specifically, the operation steps are as follows:

1. Hand washing: make sure to wash your hands with soap or hand sanitizer, and then let them dry basically;

2. Take a cotton strip: take out a catheter type cotton strip, check whether the package is complete, and if complete, remove the outer package;

3. Inspection: pull the rope gently to ensure that the rope is connected to the cotton strip and will not be pulled off;

4. Adjust the posture: you can squat, sit or stand, and use a posture that is unlikely to fall to spread your legs;

5. Remove the labia: hold the cotton strip catheter in one hand, and use the index finger and middle finger in the other hand to remove the labia from the front to expose the vagina mouth;

6. Catheter placement: hold the catheter with your thumb and middle finger, hold the handle of the catheter, point it at the vaginal opening, and let the cotton strip catheter slide in slowly along the vagina. The insertion direction is about backward and slightly upward, and the catheter should enter the area near the hand;

7. Put the cotton strip: hold the hand of the catheter, slowly press the movable head on the other end of the catheter, press it to the end, and pay attention to watching. The thread connected with the cotton strip should always be outside the vagina;

8. Take out the catheter: at last, gently take up the thread with the hand that has opened the labia, and take the catheter out of the vagina mouth. Pay attention not to pull out the thread.

When picking up the tampon, you only need to pull the thread that is exposed outside, and then you can take out the tampon.

How do I know if the tampons are in place?

The tampons need to be placed in the middle of the vagina, near the cervix.

You won't feel anything if the sliver is placed properly.

If still have feeling, that may be the place that places is too shallow, or the way that places cotton strip is not right enough.

If it's really uncomfortable, you can think about pulling the thread with bare hands, taking off the original cotton strip, and then try again.

It's normal that we didn't succeed at first. We really need to practice more.

It's really expensive, but the discomfort it brings is really hard to ignore, and we don't encourage you to take out and put in the original cotton strip repeatedly, which is likely to cause vaginal infection.

Can virgins use tampons?

The hymen is an elastic membranous tissue through which the tampon can pass completely. However, about 2% of women have small holes in their hymen that are not suitable for tampons.

If there are psychological barriers to this, we do not strongly recommend the use of tampons for women without sexual experience.

However, it's really an option to make menstrual life easier.

How often does the tampon change?

4-6 hours, make sure to change it.

There has been more than one case of "toxic shock" among young girls around the world due to the untimely replacement of tampons.

This is because the improper use of a kind of bacteria called "Staphylococcus aureus" into the vagina through the tampon, and gives the opportunity for bacteria to multiply in the vagina, and then a large number of bacteria enter the body through the broken skin of the vagina, threatening life.

Possible manifestations of toxic shock include but are not limited to:

Muscle ache, headache, red eyes, sore throat and other cold like symptoms;

The temperature rose suddenly;

Dizziness, vomiting, diarrhea;

There are burn spots on the skin & hellip; & hellip;

It rarely happens, but it can happen. In order to prevent toxic shock caused by tampons, we should do the following when using them:

1. Wash hands before use and before taking out;

2. change a sliver in 4~6 hours at most;

3. Unless the menstrual volume is super large, don't use the specification of "super blood sucking" (otherwise I won't be willing to pull it out);

4. Do not use the tampon for more than one day continuously, and the sanitary napkin and tampon should be replaced;

5. Don't insert the tampon into the vagina during the non menstrual period - I'm really serious and serious about it. Someone will do it!

I'm going to try. What else should I pay attention to?

1. Don't leave it in the toilet after pulling it out, it may be blocked.

2. Change it after defecation, because it is likely to push the tampon through the large intestine, making people feel uncomfortable, and if the fecal juice touches the line, you may let the tampon in the vagina also carry the fecal juice.

3. Just put one at a time. If it's large, choose a specification with large blood absorption. Don't "plug up" yourself.

4. Don't use the cotton sliver dropped on the ground, put into the vagina or damaged in packaging. In case of the infection mentioned above, a dozen of cotton sliver money can't stop the cost of treatment.

5. Compared with "tasteless" tampons, scented ones are more likely to cause itching, allergies and other uncomfortable reactions. Anyway, you are looking to choose & hellip; & hellip;
