It is worth noting that based on more detailed discipline data, this ranking system also disclosed the ranking of the best medical universities in China for the first time, with 71 medical universities on the list, and the medical schools of comprehensive universities do not participate in the ranking. This time, Peking Union Medical College topped the list.
From the perspective of the ranking evaluation system of China's best universities, it consists of four dimensions: personnel training, scientific research, social service and internationalization. It adopts key indicators that best reflect the level of university running, such as freshmen's college entrance examination results, graduates' employment rate, number and quality of papers, achievement transformation income, etc., so as to objectively reflect the competitive position of universities.
After Tsinghua University, Peking University and Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Fudan University, China University of science and technology, Huazhong University of science and technology, Nanjing University, Zhongshan University and Harbin University of technology rank among the top 4 to 10. Among them, Huazhong University of science and technology rose 1 place over the same period last year, ranking seventh with Nanjing University.
Under the consideration of various standards, the famous schools are basically stable. "Double first-class" construction colleges and universities maintain an absolute advantage in the ranking of the best universities in China in 2019: among the top 50 colleges and universities, 49 are "double first-class" colleges and universities; similarly, among the top 100 universities, 87 are "double first-class" colleges and universities. At the same time, there are 13 non "double first-class" construction colleges and universities ranked among the top 100 with excellent quality performance.
Most of the 13 universities are from developed coastal areas, including Guangdong (South University of science and technology, Shenzhen University, Shantou University), Fujian (Overseas Chinese University), Jiangsu (Jiangsu University, Nanjing University of technology, Yangzhou University), Zhejiang (Ningbo Nottingham University, Zhejiang University of technology, Zhejiang Normal University, Hangzhou University of Electronic Science and Technology), etc.
This year, a total of 22 universities in Shanghai ranked among the best universities in China, with 7 universities in the top 50, ranking second in the number of provinces and cities, second only to Beijing. Among the top 100 universities, there are nine schools in Shanghai. Independent ranking of Medical Universities

It is the only Chinese Medical University among the top ten and the only one in Shanghai. It should be noted that as a military college, Shanghai Military Medical University (the Second Military Medical University) is not included in the ranking of this medical university.
