Higher speed and more imagination mean lower cost
Different from 4G, 3G and 2G networks, the fifth generation mobile communication technology does not only refer to a single wireless access technology, it is a general term for a variety of new wireless access technologies and the evolution of existing wireless technologies. 5g will not only have higher transmission rate, such as low power consumption, low delay, low cost and other characteristics, but also will be the characteristics of 5g. As early as last year, the imt-2020 promotion group, jointly promoted by the Ministry of industry and information technology, the national development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of science and technology of China, released the 5g concept white paper, in which four main technical scenarios of 5g were summarized, including four scenarios: continuous wide area coverage, hot spots with high capacity, low power consumption and large connection, low delay and high reliability.
Among them, continuous wide area coverage will meet the needs of users in remote areas, high-speed mobile and other harsh environments. Hot spots with high capacity mainly meet the needs of people intensive and high traffic areas, users can still enjoy a very high network speed.
Low power consumption and large connection are mainly used in smart city, environmental monitoring, intelligent agriculture, forest fire prevention and other application scenarios aiming at sensor and data collection, with the characteristics of small data package, low power consumption, low cost, massive connection, etc. Low delay and high reliability are mainly for the special application needs of vertical industries such as vehicle networking, driverless, industrial control and so on. Such applications have high requirements for delay and reliability, and need to provide users with millisecond level end-to-end delay and nearly 100% service reliability guarantee.
However, this is only a small part of 5g's promotion to the whole industry. In June this year, CIC released a report on in-depth research and investment forecast of China's fifth generation mobile communication technology (5g) industry 2017-2021, which made it clear that by 2035, 5g's potential sales activities in the world will reach US $12.3 trillion and will span multiple industrial sectors. This is about 4.6% of global real output in 2035. During 2020 & ndash; 2035, the global real GDP will grow at an average annual growth rate of 2.9%, of which 5g will contribute 0.2%. From 2020 to 2035, 5g will contribute US $3 trillion to annual GDP.
Therefore, 5g will not only promote the qualitative change of daily connection rate, but also the change of global mobile communication.
