The difference between Longan and Longyuan

Longan and Guiyuan are the same thing. But we are used to call the fresh fruit longan, and after peeling the shell and core, it is called longan. In fact, the two are the same fruit. In the south of China, people like to call dried and fresh longan longan, while in the north, they like to call it longan.

Why longan is also called Guiyuan

Longan is called Guiyuan at first because of the taboo of ancient feudal society. In ancient times, the emperor called it dragon. Longan is a taboo of the royal family, so it needs to be renamed. In addition, longan granules produced in Guangxi are round and of high quality, so they are called Guiyuan.

Longan and litchi are not the same thing

Longan and Guiyuan are the same thing. But longan is not litchi. Longan and litchi belong to evergreen trees, with brown or black core and pseudoseed skin wrapped around the pulp, all of them belong to the subfamily of disease-free seed, but longan belongs to longan and litchi belongs to litchi, which are not the same thing. Although they are rich in vitamins, protein, calcium, potassium, iron, phosphorus and other minerals, they are different in appearance and taste.

The difference between Longan and litchi 1. Litchi is slightly larger than longan. The peel is bright red and purple red, with scales on it. The longan fruit is similar to a spherical shape, with a diameter of 1.2-2.5cm, rough pericarp, some of which have slightly convex nodules, and are yellowish brown and grayish yellow when mature.

2. Longan and litchi are rich in sucrose and glucose. The flesh is translucent and condensed. But litchi tastes sweeter. It has a sour and astringent feeling in its mouth. Longan is fragrant and sweet. After eating, it has a light sweet taste in its mouth.
