It divides a year into twelve lunar months, about 354 days. The solar calendar is based on the earth's rotation around the sun. It is also divided into 12 months a year, but it is 365.24 days. From here, we can see that it has 11 days more than the lunar calendar.
Therefore, in order to adapt to the changes of cold and summer, and keep the same with the solar calendar, the ancestors adopted the method of July leap month in 19 years, that is to say, there should be one more month in the leap year, and every 19 years there are 7 years for 13 months, that is, 383 days or 384 days. In this way, there will be about 18 days more in the year of leap month than in the year of Yang, so there will be one more 'spring start' in the lunar year, and one less spring start in the next year, so it will become the year without 'spring start'.
There has been a saying in the folk that "July leap month in 19 years" means that there will be seven years without spring every 19 years, which means that there will be an average of "widow's year" every two or three years. So widows' year is very common. It's just caused by the "Yin difference and Yang error" between the Chinese calendar and the lunar calendar in the past. It won't have any impact on the changes of the four seasons.
