What is static electricity? How to prevent static electricity in winter

In winter, besides the cold outdoor air, the most annoying thing is static electricity. No matter it's door handle or contact with people, it's a sign of "kindness". So how to prevent static electricity in winter?

1. How to prevent static electricity in winter

1.1. Improve human body humidity

People who are often "electrified" need to drink more water and apply moisturizer. Drinking water can increase the skin surface humidity, static electricity will not be generated by itself in the wet state. Therefore, it is suggested that you should use more moisturizers in winter, wash your face frequently, keep your skin moist, and prevent electrostatic accumulation.

1.2 anti static of vitamin and acid food

As the accumulation of static electricity in the body leads to the alkalinity (PH) of blood, more foods containing vitamin C, a and E and acidic foods should be added to neutralize the increase of blood alkalinity caused by static electricity. Drink more water, eat more fruits and vegetables, hairtail, turtle and other foods that can increase skin elasticity and moisture retention, maintain electrolyte balance in human body, resist cell oxidation and protect normal cell membrane potential.

1.3 'discharge' before entering and leaving the door

Before touching the iron door, you can put your hand on the wall or the ground to remove static electricity, or use your hand to grasp a bunch of keys first, and then use the tip of a key to contact the iron door, so that the electricity on your body will be discharged.

1.4. Keep indoor humidity

When the indoor air humidity is lower than 30%, it is beneficial to generate static electricity by friction. If the temperature is raised to 45%, static electricity will not be generated. Therefore, when the low humidity weather occurs, you may as well sprinkle some water at home, where it is inconvenient to wet the floor, place a basin or two of clear water, or use a humidifier, plant some potted flowers and plants, which can also achieve the purpose of increasing indoor air humidity.

2. What is static electricity

Static electricity can neither be seen nor touched. It adheres to the surface of an object and releases energy when interacting with other objects.

When the electric shock is felt, the electrostatic voltage on the human body has exceeded 2000 V; when the discharge spark is seen, the electrostatic voltage on the human body has exceeded 3000 V, at this time, the fingers will have needled pain; when the "slap" sound of the discharge is heard, the electrostatic voltage on the human body has reached 7000 v-8000 v.

Compared with most people, some old people or weak people will have a kind of unspeakable discomfort when they are attacked by static electricity. Some of them will even feel numbness, tingling, tremor, panic and so on, which will spread all over the body instantly.

3. Why the static electricity is strong in winter

We usually say that drying and wetting are related to relative humidity scientifically. The most water vapor that can be contained in the air is expressed by saturated water vapor density. The so-called relative humidity refers to the ratio of actual water vapor density to saturated water vapor density in the air. When the relative humidity is close to 100%, we will feel the air is wet; when the relative humidity is close to 0%, we will feel the air is very dry.

Relative humidity can reflect the difficulty of sweat leaving the skin more than the actual moisture density in the air. As shown in the figure below, when the relative humidity is greater than 55%, the object is not easy to accumulate high voltage, so it is not easy to generate static electricity.

What harm does static electricity do to human body in winter

1. Harm to pregnant women

Persistent static electricity can cause the increase of pH value of human blood, the increase of calcium excretion in urine and the decrease of blood calcium, which is the most harmful to the health of pregnant women. Static electricity can cause the decrease of progesterone level in pregnant women, which makes them easily feel tired, fidgety and headache. Therefore, it is necessary to take proper precautions.

2. Harm to baby

It will increase the alkaline concentration of the blood and reduce the calcium content, which is a big taboo for the growing infants. There are many kinds of viruses, bacteria and harmful substances in a large amount of dust absorbed by static electricity, which can make the baby's skin spot and become inflamed. The baby with weak resistance may even cause tracheitis, asthma and arrhythmia, etc!

3. Harm to skin

For a long time in the open environment of TV, computer and microwave oven, it is often possible to have symptoms such as enlarged pores, dry skin, erythema, pruritus and so on.

4. Harm to the heart

If the static electricity of human body is in thousands or even tens of thousands of volts, it will seriously disturb and even change the inherent potential difference in human body, especially affect the normal work of the heart, and may cause abnormal heart rate and premature heart beat. In winter, 1 / 3 of cardiovascular diseases are related to static electricity. Nine out of 10 heart patients and neurasthenia people who can't find the cause are caused by static electricity for a long time.

5. Harm to the brain

Medical experts explain: the static electricity produced by drying does have an impact on the brain. It will cause abnormal current conduction of nerve cell membrane, affect the central nervous system, and make people feel tired, fidgety, insomnia and headache.

Who is prone to static electricity

1. People with dry skin

The dry skin has less water on the body surface, lower conductivity, and static electricity is not easy to be conducted away. It accumulates on the body surface and will be electrified when it reaches a certain amount.

2. People in chemical fiber clothes

The friction between the chemical fiber clothing and the skin will produce static electricity, the fiber will have positive charge, and the skin will have negative charge (similar to the fur friction rubber rod). In the process of activity, the electric ion will increase continuously, and when it accumulates to a certain load, it will feel electric shock when encountering metal.

3. People in air-conditioned rooms for a long time

When the indoor air conditioner is turned on, the air will become drier. When the relative humidity of the air is lower than 40%, the static electricity on the body surface should not be released. After a long time, it will accumulate more and more and cause electric shock.
