When will China's 5g network come out? When will 5g technology be officially used

With the improvement of 5g network and the popularization of 8K hardware, 5g network technology will be put into use one day in the near future. When will 5g technology be officially put into use? Let's get to know.

In 5g era, a mobile phone may need 16 PA chips, more base stations, large-scale antennas, filters, etc., which brings development opportunities to the third generation of semiconductors.

The state has been vigorously supporting the third generation semiconductor industry. Last year, the State Council issued the 13th five year plan for national scientific and technological innovation, which clearly put forward that the third generation of semiconductor materials should be the core to seize the commanding height of advanced electronic material technology.

According to market research reports, the global RF front-end market scale in 2016 is US $12.5 billion, which is expected to reach US $25.9 billion by 2022, with an annual compound growth rate of 12.9%; in terms of filters, the global market scale is expected to reach US $16 billion by 2022.

Speaking of communication, 5g is a very popular word. Although the 5g standard has not been completely determined up to now, many countries, including China, have made it clear that they will start large-scale commercial use in the first time (2020 or later). China Mobile and China Telecom have made it clear that they will carry out commercial experiments in 2018. What is 5g? How far is it from us? What are the problems to be solved in scale business? How far is the gap between China and the world's leading level?

The 5g network schedule is determined, and it will be officially put into commercial use as soon as 2020.

According to the report of economic reference on November 23, China's 5g network business schedule has been officially published. According to the work deployment of the Ministry of industry and information technology, China's imt-2020 (5g) promotion group (hereinafter referred to as "5g promotion group") and the 5g business plan of the three major operators, China will launch the second phase test of 5g network in 2017, and carry out large-scale test networking in 2018. On this basis, 5g network construction will be started in 2019, and 5g network will be officially used in 2020.

What is the gap between China and the world in 5g?

From a technical point of view, from 2G, 3G to 4G, 5g, the voice of China's communication industry in the world is obviously different. 2G standard, we can only follow passively. 3G standard, we have achieved a breakthrough through differentiation. The 4G standard and the effective utilization of TDD spectrum promote the TD-LTE dominated by China to be accepted by many operators in the world. 5g standard, Huawei, ZTE, China Mobile, etc. have become leaders from participants. Their voice in the world has increased significantly, and the proportion of related core patent technologies has increased. However, it should be noted that there is still a certain gap in the competitiveness of Chinese enterprises in some key parts, such as chips, test equipment, etc.

From the perspective of business process, China's 3G license issuance is nearly 10 years away from the world's leading countries, 4G license issuance is 4 years away from the world's leading countries, while the 5g license issuance is likely to be synchronized with the world's leading countries. As the largest single communication market in the world, China takes the lead in licensing, which is a strong support for promoting the international competitiveness of China's communication industry.

With 4G, do you need 5g?

In fact, this is a false proposition. First, 4G is not fast enough. We see that the 4G network speed advertised by the operators is 100Mbps, 150Mbps, and 4G + can reach 450mbps. This actually refers to the theoretical maximum speed, which is not enough to support our normal use. For example, in the crowded places such as the venue and stadium, the network speed will be very slow. In addition, the cost of 4G traffic is very high, which makes us consider WiFi when downloading large files. 5g network will solve this problem.

In addition, another breakthrough of 5g is that the time delay (i.e. response time) is greatly reduced, which makes automatic driving, remote control, interconnection of everything and so on have the conditions for scale commercial use.

What is 5g network?

The fifth generation mobile phone mobile communication standard, also known as the fifth generation mobile communication technology, foreign language abbreviation: 5g, which is the next generation of 4G technology. So far, 5g standard has not been determined, but 5g target 10Gbps peak rate, less than 1ms air port delay and more than 1 million connections, all manufacturers are actively working towards this aspect. It can be roughly imagined that 5g is characterized by 100 times the network speed of 4G, all kinds of high-definition movies and TV programs are very smooth, the response time is almost real-time, remote automatic control is possible, and the use cost will be more than 10 times lower than 4G, which can truly realize all-time, low-cost, high-speed, multimedia real-time interaction.

3GPP defines three scenarios of 5g: embB, mmtc and urllc. EmbB: large flow mobile broadband services such as 3D / Ultra HD video; mmtc: large scale Internet of things services; urllc: services such as driverless and industrial automation that need low delay and high reliable connection. At the end of last year, Huawei's polarcode scheme was determined as the control channel coding scheme of 5g embB scenario by 3GPP, which is the first time that Chinese enterprises have appeared in the ranks of global mobile communication technology leaders.

How far is 5g from us?

According to the planning of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), 5g standard will be finalized in 2018, and 5g will be ready for commercial scale in 2020. At present, the world's leading manufacturers are working hard according to this progress, and the progress is smooth, and it is very possible to complete on schedule. Moreover, some manufacturers have been actively using 5g R & D technology achievements on 4G, such as Huawei, Ericsson's 4.5g, ZTE's pre5g.

However, we should also see that there is still a long way to go before 5g scale commercial use. The criteria have not been finalized. Compared with 3G, which includes WCDMA, CDMA 2000 and TD-SCDMA, 4G is a standard LTE, but it adopts two different signal transmission control modes: FDD (frequency division duplex), which adopts two symmetrical independent channels, one is used to transmit information downward and the other is used to transmit information upward. TDD (time division duplex), transmitting and receiving signals are carried out in different time slots of the same frequency channel, and they are separated by a certain guarantee time. Although up to now, there are many differences in the understanding of 5g standard among manufacturers, and they all hope to adopt technologies that are more conducive to themselves, but there is no change in everyone's consensus, that is, they hope to reach a unified standard, which is more conducive to technology maturity and low cost, which makes the negotiation of 5g standard more delicate.

In the competition with Qualcomm, Huawei's polarization coding scheme is determined to be the control channel coding scheme of the embB scenario, but the game in other related fields is still in progress. According to the development scale of communication technology in the past few generations, the terminal chip will be supplied in batches about one year after the standard is determined. After another year or so, the mobile phone will have the conditions for large-scale supply. Judging from the current progress, it is not easy to make large-scale commercial use in 2020. However, 5g contains multiple scenarios. Because the Internet of things, automatic driving, manufacturing robots and other terminals are lower than smart phones, it is possible to take the lead in these areas with the conditions of large-scale commercial use.

Another obstacle to 5g scale is the frequency band. At present, the frequency band used by 5g is not unified in the world. If higher frequency band is adopted, a large number of base stations are needed to achieve continuous coverage, which is difficult to achieve scale coverage. If the existing frequency band is to be recycled, more environments are different, and the recyclable frequency band is also very different.

When will China's 5g network come? China's 5g network business schedule will come out!

According to several authoritative sources, China's 5g network business schedule has been officially published, and will be put into business as soon as 2020, just four years later.

According to the work deployment of the Ministry of industry and information technology, China's imt-2020 (5g) promotion group, and the 5g business plan of the three major operators, China will launch the second phase of 5g network test in 2017, which is expected to be completed by the end of that year, and carry out large-scale test networking in 2018.

Next, the 5g network construction will be started in 2019 after the relevant international institutions release the official 5g standard, and the 5g network will be officially commercial as soon as 2020.

It is estimated that the total scale of 5g network construction will be the same as the existing 4G scale, and the overall investment will exceed 500 billion yuan.
