Who is the leader in 5g era? China Mobile will still lead the deployment

Since the 5g standard has been officially adopted, three telecom operators in China have started up with full power and strive to take the first step. Who is the leader in 5g era? China Mobile will still lead the deployment! Who can continue to lead, will it be China Mobile?

From the perspective of network business time, China Mobile will still lead the deployment

According to the schedule of 5g deployment, the three operators are ready. It is predicted that China will advance 5g commercial release time to 2019, and it is likely to deploy 5g first in the world, while the actual operation time of operators may be earlier.

Recently, Shang Bing, chairman of China Mobile, revealed that China Mobile's total investment in 4G exceeded 450 billion yuan, building the world's largest TD-LTE network. For the future 5g technology, China Mobile will carry out off-site trials in five cities in the mainland this year, striving to achieve pre commercial use in 2019.

Similarly, at the world mobile conference in Shanghai, China Unicom announced that it will introduce the latest international standards to build 5g high-quality network. In 2019, it will carry out 5g business scale demonstration application and trial commercial use, and it is planned to officially commercial use in 2020.

At the 2018 Shanghai World Mobile conference, China Telecom released the 5g technology white paper of China Telecom, announcing that 5g pilot has been opened in xiong'an, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Suzhou, Chengdu, Lanzhou and other six cities. According to the plan of China Telecom, 5g laboratory and field test will be carried out in 2017-2018, trial commercial deployment will be carried out in 2019, and commercial scale will be achieved around 2020.

In terms of wording, China Mobile is "pre commercial" in 2019, China Unicom is "formal commercial" in 2020, China Telecom is "trial commercial" in 2019 and "scale commercial" around 2020. Although there are some differences, it can be basically judged that the second half of 2019 will be the start-up time of 5g in China, and China Mobile will be "first step" again.

5g terminal started very early, China Mobile has made great strides

For users, operators need terminal support to deploy 5g. The key point of the overall promotion plan of China Mobile 5g terminal is to launch the first batch of 5g general modules at the China Mobile Partner Conference in November 2018. This means that at the end of 2018, industry customers can use 5g products for testing and experiments; secondly, MWC will release the first 5g industry terminals in 2019, with the ultimate goal of achieving friendly user testing in October 2019.

China Mobile has set up a 5g terminal pioneer plan, which includes the 5g terminal product form and chip, terminal, component and instrument development, with the participation of 28 signing enterprises, including 6 mainstream chip enterprises, including Qualcomm, Huawei, Lianfa technology, Ziguang zhanrui, Intel, Samsung, etc.; Huawei, oppo, vivo, Xiaomi, Samsung, ZTE, Lenovo, HTC, Hisense, TCL, cool 13 mainstream terminal enterprises including Pai, glory and Meizu; 5 component enterprises including qorvo, skyworks, Taiyo Yuden, Feixiang and Weijie; 4 instrument enterprises including rod, Anli, Shide and Xinghe.

According to the white paper of China Telecom, China Telecom believes that 5g terminal will develop in the direction of form diversification and technical performance differentiation in the face of diversified scenario demand. In the initial stage of 5g, mobile phones are mainly used to enhance mobile broadband, and the terminal planning of other scenarios will be gradually clear. In 5g terminal, China Telecom is more concerned about the use of Internet of things.

In addition, we also see that, unlike China Mobile's increased investment and promotion in terminals, China Unicom and China Telecom have not shown much effort. Due to their limited strength and comprehensive standards, the two companies should still be waiting for 'picking peaches'.

In terms of application, the three telecom operators have their own advantages

June 27, 'PUFA middot; China Mobile 5g financial joint innovation laboratory was unveiled in Shanghai. The two sides will jointly study and promote new businesses and services such as 5g based intelligent network construction, user experience innovation, risk control management optimization, and create a first-class digital ecological banking platform with high efficiency, direct access, intelligence and sharing, integrate into vertical industries and emerging industries, and build an open and win-win financial service ecosystem.

In addition, China Mobile launched the 5g joint innovation center in 2016 to carry out joint innovation with partners in multiple vertical fields such as intelligent transportation and industrial energy, and strive to build a 5g cross industry integrated innovation ecosystem.

At the 2018 World Mobile Conference (mwcs18) held in Shanghai, China jointly officially announced the signing of a framework agreement with Tencent to become a strategic partner. According to the agreement, the two sides will launch joint innovation around 5g, and establish a "5g joint innovation laboratory" to carry out long-term and stable cooperation in edge computing, network slicing, Internet of vehicles, high-precision positioning and other fields.

Meanwhile, during this period, China Unicom and HUAWEI held a joint conference on the signing of 5G strategy in Shanghai, and announced the strategic consensus of the two sides in the field of 5G innovation. Of course, China Unicom has also signed a contract with JD in terms of business hall cooperation.

It can be seen that, similar to the past, China Unicom still places its application capabilities on the cooperation of its partners. It cooperates with Tencent to find application scenarios, with Huawei to improve its technical strength, and with JD to improve its liquidity.

Compared with the above two, China Telecom took the lead in announcing the Internet of things package in the 5g era, and has done a lot of work in the Internet of things. In terms of industry application, deputy general manager of China Telecom Technology Department pointed out that China Telecom cooperated with vertical industry partners to develop 5g innovation demonstration applications and provide 5g innovation solutions for vertical industries. As early as September 2016, China Telecom officially established 5g open laboratory, aiming to promote cooperation with equipment manufacturers and vertical industries based on the laboratory To promote the commercial use of new technologies and the incubation of products. In addition, China Telecom has built the world's largest NB IOT network, which is oriented to the sustainable development of Internet of things applications.

In a word, China's communication pattern in 5g era will not change much. It is almost inevitable that China Mobile will continue to lead. China Telecom may continue to increase its market share. After the mixed reform, China Unicom has been affected by Tencent and other Internet companies that attach great importance to the flow change, and focus on various transformation and rapid revenue improvement, which is subject to It's a little bit of a thunderbolt and a little bit less of a financial capability. We need to refuel.
