In the past two years, the domestic mobile phone manufacturers who have suffered enough from patent finally woke up and gradually began to pay attention to the importance of mobile phone patents. Recently, the State Intellectual Property Office released the main work statistics and relevant information in 2016 in Beijing. The patent data is very interesting. Among the top ten patent applications, 6 are occupied by mobile phone brands.
It can be seen from the data that in 2016, the top ten domestic enterprises (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) in terms of the number of applications for invention patents were: Huawei Technology Co., Ltd. (4906), China Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (4405), LETV Holdings (Beijing) Co., Ltd. (4197), ZTE Communication Co., Ltd. (3941), Guangdong opper Mobile Communication Co., Ltd. (3, 778 pieces), BOE Technology Group Co., Ltd. (3569 pieces), Zhuhai Gree Electric Co., Ltd. (3299 pieces), Beijing Xiaomi Mobile Software Co., Ltd. (3280 pieces), Nubia Technology Co., Ltd. (2912 pieces), State Grid Corporation of China (2784 pieces).
Among them, the scene of mobile phone manufacturers occupying six seats is exciting. A report called "smartphone copyright accumulation" shows that an average smartphone costs $400, of which $120 comes from various patent fees. These invisible technologies become the core factor supporting the price of a mobile phone.
But it's also the biggest headache for Chinese mobile phone manufacturers. Many emerging Chinese mobile phone manufacturers take high cost performance as their selling point, but due to the low single machine profit, the company lacks investment in R & D, patent accumulation and technological innovation, which makes it difficult to expand to the high-end price market, thus forming a vicious circle.
However, after reading last year's statistics, domestic mobile phone manufacturers have paid more attention to innovative patents, and more and more enterprises are aiming at patents in advance.
