Jin Yong (March 10, 1924 - October 30, 2018), formerly known as Cha Liangyong, was born in Haining City, Zhejiang Province, and moved to Hong Kong in 1948. Contemporary martial arts novelist, journalist, entrepreneur, political critic, social activist, one of the 'four great talents of Hong Kong'.

In 1944, he was admitted to the Department of foreign affairs of Chongqing central political university. In the autumn of 1946, Jin Yong joined Shanghai Ta Kung Pao as an international telecommunication translator. In 1948, graduated from Law School of Soochow University in Shanghai. In 1952, he was transferred to the editorial supplement of the new evening news, and wrote screenplays such as "the most beautiful woman" and "orchid". In 1959, Jin Yong and others founded Ming Pao in Hong Kong.

Since 1985, he has successively served as a member of the Drafting Committee of the basic law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, one of the heads of the political system group, a member of the Executive Committee of the Basic Law Advisory Committee and a member of the Preparatory Committee of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. In 2000, he won the Bauhinia medal. In September 2009, he was appointed honorary vice chairman of the 7th National Committee of China Writers Association.
