Does the cashmere coat shrink
In general, cashmere coats will shrink if washed. Because cashmere or wool and other animal hair are animal protein fibers, which are easy to shrink, it is recommended to send them to a professional washing shop for dry cleaning.
How to recover the shrinkage of cashmere coat:
(1) Steam ironing to restore cashmere coat
1. Steam iron heating, 1.5-2CM away from the cashmere coat for low-temperature ironing, you can first check the maximum ironing temperature indicated on the washing mark inside the cashmere coat to avoid the overcoat from being damaged due to high temperature.
2. When ironing, pull the cashmere coat while it's hot and lengthen its fibers. Due to the limited heating area of the steam iron, in order to ensure the uniform stretching of the fiber, the sweater is heated and stretched locally, in sections and in parts.
Note: you can't stretch a lot at a time. You need to heat repeatedly to stretch evenly. In addition, the total length of stretching should be known in mind. Never stretch too much. And the operation should be carried out on the ironing table. At home, a blanket can be spread on the table top. After all, it is better to be heated, shaped and cooled by the portrait machine.
(2) Steamer + steamer ironing
1. Wrap the cashmere coat with clean white cloth, pay attention not to compact, and try to keep it fluffy;
2. Steam the wrapped cashmere coat in a cage for 15-20 minutes;
3. After coming out, take the heat shake and pull to restore the original state;
4. After cooling, it can be ironed with a iron at low temperature (80-100 ℃).
(3) Send it to the dry cleaner
The shrinkage of cashmere coat is mainly related to cashmere material itself and washing method. The fiber structure of wool clothes is looser than that of other fabrics, so it is easy to change. Light change can be ironed and stretched for recovery, while heavy change can be difficult to recover. It is recommended to send it to the dry cleaner for professional treatment.
(4) Using clothing shrink repair enzymes
Experienced people can also use clothing shrink repair enzyme to repair shrinkage, but cashmere fabric is more precious, it is recommended to use it according to the situation.
How to wash cashmere coat without shrinking?
1. For some slight stains, try to dip a towel in neutral washing liquid or water solution of special detergent for silk wool to gently wipe the wool surface, after removing the stains. In the same way, clean the detergent residue with clean towel dipped in water, which can be repeated several times. After cleaning, it shall be spread and dried in a cool place in time.
