What is neonatal jaundice? Correct nursing methods of neonatal jaundice

Almost every baby is born with jaundice of the newborn, and the skin turns yellow. What is jaundice of the newborn? In fact, physiological jaundice is not terrible, just need to do a good job in prevention.

What is neonatal jaundice

What medicine is neonatal jaundice? It refers to the jaundice of a baby under the full moon (within 28 days of birth). The main symptoms are yellow skin, mucous membrane and sclera. The baby's appetite is poor and restless. The body temperature may also rise.

Neonatal jaundice is a very common disease in the newborn. Clinically, about 85% of term infants and the vast majority of premature infants have jaundice within one week after birth. Neonatal jaundice is a disease caused by the incomplete development of liver function, abnormal metabolism of bilirubin and the increase of bilirubin concentration in the blood. It can be divided into physiological jaundice and pathological jaundice.

Nursing of neonatal jaundice

Pay attention to the color of the baby's stool: pay attention to the color of the baby's stool. If there is a problem with the liver and biliary tract, the stool will turn white, but not suddenly white, but increasingly light. If the body suddenly turns yellow again, it must be brought to the doctor. This is because under normal circumstances, the bilirubin processed by the liver will be excreted from the bile duct to the intestine, and the feces will be colored. However, when the bile duct is blocked and the bilirubin cannot be excreted from the liver, the liver will be damaged. Observe the daily life of the baby: as long as the baby looks more and more yellow, the spirit and appetite are not good, or the temperature is unstable, drowsy and prone to sharp sound Crying and other conditions, we have to go to the hospital for examination.

Carefully observe the change of jaundice: jaundice starts from the beginning, and starts from the foot, while the eyes are the earliest yellow and the latest, so you can start from the eyes. If you don't know how to look, experts suggest that you can press any part of the body, as long as the pressed skin is white, it doesn't matter, it's yellow.

Frequent breast feeding: if it is proved that the jaundice is caused by insufficient feeding, the mother must frequently feed the food, because the secretion of milk is a normal physiological reaction, frequent inhalation will stimulate the secretion of milk hormone, and the more milk will be secreted, do not think that the baby will not eat enough or because of persistent jaundice, just use water or sugar water to supplement.

How to prevent neonatal jaundice

1. Fetal yellow often affects the fetus due to the invasion of dampness and heat by the pregnant mother, resulting in fetal yellow after birth. Therefore, during pregnancy, the pregnant mother should pay attention to the hygiene of food and drink, but the food is cold, but the food is hungry and full, and avoid alcohol and hot products, so as to prevent damage to the spleen and stomach.

2. If a woman has a history of hepatitis or has ever been sick with jaundice, the antibody in blood and its dynamic changes should be measured before delivery, and the corresponding preventive measures should be taken. During the delivery, we should strengthen the monitoring, and after the delivery, we should also carry out strict monitoring for the baby, and treat the symptoms in time.

3. If the blood type of the husband and wife is not the same (especially the mother's blood type is O, the father's blood type is a, B or AB), or the mother's Rh blood type is negative, the relevant serology and amniotic fluid examination should be carried out regularly, and delivery should be carried out under strict supervision to prevent the occurrence of hemolysis of the newborn.

4. It is necessary to observe the condition of scleral jaundice after birth, to know the time when jaundice appears and subsides, to treat jaundice as soon as possible, and to observe the change of jaundice color to know the advance and retreat of jaundice.

5. The newborn should keep warm and get up early to start the milk.
