When will rabies vaccine be given
1. Prevention after bite. For general bites, i.e. the skin is slightly scratched, scratched or damaged without bleeding, and the skin is licked, one ampoule of the vaccine should be injected at 0 vaccine and measures (3 sheets) (the first day, the day of injection), 3 (the fourth day, and so on), 7, 14 and 30 days respectively, with the same dosage for children. For severe bites, in addition to the above-mentioned method, the vaccine should be injected in double quantity in 0 and 3 days, and at the same time, the anti rabies serum (40iu / kg body weight) or rabies immunoglobulin (20iu / kg body weight) should be used for local and intramuscular injection. In the case of combined use of anti rabies serum or immunoglobulin, it is necessary to strengthen the injection of 2-3 doses of vaccine after the whole process of vaccination, i.e. to strengthen the injection of 1 dose on the 15th, 75th or 10th, 20th and 90th days after the whole process of vaccination.
All the 7 cases, such as injecting anti rabies serum one day before the injection of vaccine, chronic patients such as liver cirrhosis, immune deficiency, taking immunosuppressive drugs, the elderly, severe malnutrition and 48 hours after bite, should be immunized with 2-3 times of the amount of vaccine at the time of the initial injection, and the injection in parts will have a better immune effect. In addition, although some of them are minor injuries, the amount of virus they invade is large or the parts rich in nerves are injured, and the cases with short incubation period and ineffective vaccine alone may also occur. Recently, the World Health Organization (who) recommanded that antiserum should be used in all kinds of biting.
2. For those who do not bite, 3 injections can be given at 0, 7 and 21 days. One needle should be strengthened one year later, and another needle should be strengthened every 1-3 years later.
3. The vaccine is used for intramuscular injection of deltoid muscle of upper arm. Children should be injected intramuscularly in the anteromedial region of the thigh.
