The Department of ocean and Fisheries of Hainan Province announced the measures for the examination and approval of the development and utilization of uninhabited islands in Hainan Province on April 4, specifying that units or individuals applying for the development and utilization of uninhabited islands should apply to the provincial marine administrative department, and submit the application, specific scheme and project demonstration report for the development and utilization of uninhabited islands. The method is clear. The maximum time limit for the development and utilization of uninhabited islands shall be implemented with reference to the relevant provisions on the right to use the sea area: 15 years for breeding; 25 years for tourism and entertainment; 30 years for salt industry and mining; 40 years for public welfare undertakings; 50 years for construction projects such as ports and shipyards. Twenty five years for the use of the island; thirty years for the use of salt industry and mining industry; forty years for the use of public welfare undertakings; fifty years for the use of ports, shipyards and other construction projects.
