On the 10th anniversary of Wenchuan earthquake, how to escape from the earthquake?

Today is the 10th anniversary of the Wenchuan earthquake. I believe that many people have been screened by those touching deeds in the Wenchuan earthquake. Then how to save yourself and escape when the earthquake happens? When the earthquake happens, whether you are indoors or outdoors, keeping calm and taking relevant actions is the best way to protect yourself.

1、 Indoor safety tips

If you happen to be indoors when the earthquake happens, you should stay indoors. Don't try to run to other rooms or even rush to the outside. Immediately protect yourself in accordance with the safety principle of "lying down", "covering", "stabilizing", and prevent yourself from being hurt by things "shaking down" or even collapsed houses.

1. Get down

Immediately take the position of hands and knees supporting the ground and lying down. This position has a low center of gravity, is not easy to fall in the earthquake, and can also move quickly when necessary. At the same time, protect the head and neck with arms or suitable objects at hand, so as to prevent something falling and hitting yourself.

2. Cover

It's better to find a solid table as a cover and try to hide your body (at least head and neck) under the table.

Of course, not every room happens to have a table! If not, try to move to a strong big column, a corner without large furniture, a low furniture side. Be sure to cling to the corner or furniture as a cover, and protect your head and neck with your hands and arms.

But some places are definitely not suitable for cover:

Don't hide in the corner beside the big furniture. Once the furniture falls down, it is a fatal threat;

Don't hide under the door frame. It's not safe there. Anything falling down in an earthquake may hurt you. Hiding under the door frame can't prevent any kind of dangerous situation;

At the same time, it is also necessary to avoid choosing the positions close to the glass window, porcelain, lamps and lanterns, articles placed on the elevated and decorations. In a word, it is also necessary to keep away from the things that are not solid and wobbly at ordinary times.

3. Steady

During the shaking, you must always hide in a relatively safe place, do not run around until the shaking stops.

When running out at this time, on the one hand, it is easy to be hit by other things, on the other hand, people may not be able to stand firm at this time, and any accident may happen.

If you were in the kitchen or bed at the time of the earthquake, you should pay attention to other things besides the above three points:

If you are in the kitchen, turn off the induction cooker, natural gas, etc. quickly, and then find a place to hide;

If you are in bed, don't panic. Protect your head with a pillow at the first time. If you roll off the bed or rush out of the door in panic, the glass debris that has shaken off the ground may directly hit you.

2、 Outdoor safety tips

If you are outdoors at the time of the earthquake, stay away from tall buildings, electric wires, sewers, and various oil and gas pipelines for the first time.

1. Keep away from buildings

In the event of an earthquake, some decorations on the windows and walls of the building are very easy to fall down. Remember not to get close to these dangerous areas, and take the posture of lowering the center of gravity of the body as mentioned above until the earthquake stops.

2. Drive slowly and stay in the car

If you are driving at the time of the earthquake, don't brake hard, let alone rush out of the car!

First find a safe roadside to stop, pay attention to avoid electric poles, overpasses, overpasses or viaducts; stay in the car, and step on the brake; turn on the radio, listen to whether there is an emergency notice for the earthquake.

During this period, the car may sway, but it is relatively safe to avoid.

However, if you are far away from the safe area when the earthquake occurs, and you need to drive to the safe area by yourself, you should be alert to the abnormal conditions on the road when driving, including the dropping of electric poles and wires, the breaking of road surface, the collapse of viaduct and bridge, etc.

3、 Safety tips in special cases

In any case, if the surrounding conditions permit, we should try our best to "lie down", "cover" and "stabilize", and use all available things to protect our head and neck.

1. People with limited movement

If you are unable to lie on the ground immediately due to limited movement, you can keep your seat according to your own conditions; if you are sitting in a wheelchair, quickly lock the wheel of the wheelchair to prevent the wheelchair from slipping around uncontrollably and causing an accident.

At the same time, use thick books, pillows or arms to protect the head and neck, and minimize the possible damage caused by falling or flying objects.

2. In the tall building

Lie down, look for cover and hide until the end of the earthquake, avoid windows, etc. At this time, the power may be cut off, and the indoor fire extinguisher will start to spray water, do not panic. Remember not to use the elevator!

3. In the elevator

If you happen to be trapped in the elevator when the earthquake happens, try to pat the door or knock with metal objects, try to attract others' attention and wait for rescue.

4. Crowded room

Lie down, look for cover and hide until the earthquake is over. Don't rush to the exit blindly. There must be a lot of people rushing to the exit at this time. There may be a stampede.

5. In the stadium or cinema

Stay in your seat until the earthquake is over. Even if the earthquake is over, you should be careful of aftershocks and be alert when you leave the site.

6. By the sea

Lie down, look for cover and hide until the earthquake is over. It is necessary to estimate the duration of the earthquake. If the violent shaking lasts for more than 20 seconds, it may be accompanied by a tsunami. Hurry to run to a place with relatively high terrain (at least 3 kilometers away from the coast, 30 meters above sea level is safer).

7. Downstream of the dam

In case of severe earthquake, the dam may collapse at any time. If you are at the downstream of the dam, find an emergency evacuation route and hurry to leave the site.
