Polybarbie plasticizer exceeds the standard, and long-term exposure has an impact on children's deve

The "61" International Children's Day is approaching, and the sales of children's toys meet the peak. On May 29, the Beijing Consumer Association announced the results of a comparative test of 76 brands and 100 online children's toys. The results showed that 14 samples did not meet the requirements of relevant standards. Among them, a lemmel Barbie doll with the trademark of obeby aobeiby sold on Jumei superior products platform was detected that the plasticizer exceeded 140 times.

The municipal consumer association said that phthalates are the most widely used plasticizers with the most varieties and the largest output, and are widely used in the production of polymer plastic products.

Phthalates are considered as a kind of environmental hormones, which have toxic effects on many human systems, such as liver and kidney, especially children and pregnant women in the early stage of development and sensitive stage of differentiation and development. Studies have shown that phthalates can affect the human hormone system, cause precocious puberty in children, reduce the number of male sperm, low motor ability and abnormal morphology, and have a certain impact on children's neural development.

In this comparative test, the detection of plasticizer is essential. The sum of dibutyl phthalate (DBP), butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP) and di (2-ethyl) hexyl phthalate (DEHP) shall be ≤ 0.1%。

However, it was found in the test that the color plastic dibutyl phthalate (DBP) content and di (2-ethyl) hexyl phthalate (DEHP) content were 4.847%, 9.246% and 14.093% respectively, which were nominally produced by Xiaodu toy factory, Chenghai District, Shantou City.

After testing, there are still 13 samples with problems in mechanical and physical properties in this comparative test, mainly including: Toys contain small parts, sharp edges and tips, there are safety risks, or lack of relevant warnings; There are risks in the shape, size and strength of some specific toys; The thickness of product packaging film is less than 0.038mm, etc.

In addition, after testing, there were problems in the safety performance of the three sample electric toys in the comparative test, mainly due to the problems in the identification and description of the electric toys, including the lack of information on some battery safety precautions on the packaging and description; No relevant precautions for replaceable battery; The label "package contains important information and must be retained" is missing; No manufacturer's name identification; The absence of Chinese instructions and signs may cause inconvenience to consumers and even potential safety hazards.
