What's the matter with Peking University Professors quitting IEEE? It's too much for a professor of Peking University to apply for withdrawal. According to the news on May 29, IEEE, the largest academic organization in the industry, is cleaning up the reviewers of Huawei. On the same day, Professor Zhang Haixia of Peking University said in the open letter to IEEE chairman that she would withdraw from her IEEE member and journal editorial board.

Zhang Haixia's official account in AliceWonderlab reads as follows:

Today, I was surprised to hear that IEEE ordered to prohibit Huawei experts from participating in journal review, which is far beyond the bottom line of an acceptable academic. As a member of IEEE and journal editorial board, I must express my attitude: I applied to withdraw from the editorial board of my two IEEE journals and wrote an open letter to the chairman designate of IEEE. This is my personal attitude and has nothing to do with any other organizations and individuals. It is hereby declared.

According to the data, Zhang Haixia is a professor of information science and technology at Peking University and the chairman of IEEE NTC Beijing Branch.

Zhang Haixia said in her letter that as an old friend of the president elect of IEEE and a senior member of IEEE, she was shocked to hear the news that IEEE participated in the 'US Huawei ban' (US Huawei ban) and replaced all reviewers related to Huawei, which far exceeded the base line.

In her letter, Zhang Haixia said: "I joined IEEE since I studied for my doctoral degree. IEEE has been recognized by my colleagues and friends all over the world as an international professional academic platform in the field of Electronic Engineering & hellip& hellip; Replacing all Huawei reviewers in IEEE journals is a challenge to my professional ethics. I have to say, as a professor, I can't accept this. Therefore, I decided to withdraw from the editorial board of IEEE nano and IEEE jmems until one day it returns to the professional integrity we abide by together. "
