Looking back on January 28, at the expert seminar on the development ideas of Yuanmingyuan in the new era, Yuanmingyuan announced the findings of Dagongmen archaeological sites, including Dagongmen site, dongdongmenguan site, jinshuiqiao site, river channel site, etc. Recently, Yuanmingyuan will start the protection project of Dagongmen area. According to reports, the grand palace gate is the only area in the three gardens of Yuanmingyuan that has not yet restored the function of the main gate. The gate was built in 1725, the third year of Yongzheng reign. It is the most important and the largest palace gate area among the three gardens of Yuanmingyuan, ranking first among the 40 scenic spots of Yuanmingyuan. In 1860, the Imperial Palace was burned down by the British and French forces. The picture shows the Jade Road excavated at the Dagongmen site.

Later, Emperor Tongzhi ordered people to repair it, but it was stopped before it was finished, and the gate of the Grand Palace was gradually abandoned in the following 100 years.
