How is eyelid jumping? Is it true that left eye jumps wealth and right eye jumps disaster

Four seas net: people often say that left eye jumps wealth right eye jumps disaster, the eyelid jumps attribute to a kind of thing omen, is the fact really so? Actually the eyelid jumps is a kind of physiological phenomenon, the biology calls it the eyelid spasm, so what causes the eyelid jumps?

Eyelid jump is called palpebral tremor or blepharospasm in medicine. It is a kind of recurrent tremor and spasm caused by the disturbance of autonomic nerve and the influence of the fiber part of orbicularis oculi muscle. There are many causes of oculomotor jump in clinic. Understanding these factors in advance and carrying out targeted prevention can effectively reduce the incidence.

The common causes of eyelid jump are as follows:

1. Benign muscle fiber convulsion: it will appear under fatigue, emotional tension, etc. It is a unilateral, temporary periocular muscle twitch.

2. Reflex blepharospasm: it is caused by local eye diseases such as keratitis and iritis.

3. Facial muscle spasm: in addition to unilateral eyelid jump, it is also accompanied by paroxysmal irregular twitch of facial muscle on the same side, which is mostly caused by compression of facial nerve by blood vessels.

4. Meige syndrome: in addition to bilateral eyelid beat, there is also the twitch of lower facial muscle and even neck muscle.

5. Idiopathic blepharospasm: it is characterized by intermittent or persistent non closing of the eyelids at will, without ophthalmopathy.

6. Hysterical blepharospasm: the symptoms are similar to those of idiopathic blepharospasm, but the treatment is effective.

In the above cases, the first one does not need to be treated generally, just rest and relax the spirit; while the reflexive blepharospasm can improve after treating the local eye diseases; for the idiopathic blepharospasm and Meige syndrome, the local injection has a good effect and can also well relieve the facial spasm, but if there is clear vascular and nerve compression, microvascular decompression is an effective treatment.
