So, after being bitten by a dog, how to properly handle the wound and carry out vaccination measures?

First, after being bitten by a dog, wash the wound repeatedly with soap water, disinfectant or water alone for no less than 15 minutes. When the wound is deep, wash it repeatedly with syringe perfusion for at least 30 minutes. Then, disinfect it repeatedly with alcohol, and finally apply iodine wine. The wound shall not stop bleeding, bandage or suture as much as possible;

Then passive immunization was carried out according to the classification and degree of exposure, i.e. local infiltration injection was carried out at the bottom and around the wound with human anti rabies immunoglobulin (HRIG) 20 IU / kg or horse anti rabies immune serum 40 IU / kg (after skin test was negative); at the same time, arm muscle injection was carried out with the same dose. Use antibiotics if necessary; use tetanus antitoxin when the wound is deep.

Finally, take active immunization measures, i.e. inject rabies vaccine, which should be as early as possible after the bite:

1. General patients were inoculated 5 times, once in the 0, 3, 7, 14 and 30 days respectively; 2ml was injected intramuscularly each time

2. Patients with severe bite were inoculated 10 times, one injection per day in the first 6 days, and one injection per day in the 10th, 14th, 30th and 90th days. Same injection dose as before

3. For those who were bitten again in one year, they were vaccinated once in 0, 3 days respectively; for those who were bitten again in 1-3 years, they were vaccinated once in 0, 3, 7 days respectively, over 3 years, they were vaccinated again. The injection dose was unchanged.
