What is the difference between coated glass and ordinary glass?

Coated glass is a kind of glass coated with one or more layers of metal, alloy or metal compound film on the surface of common glass. The optical properties of glass can be changed to meet certain requirements.

Compared with the heat reflective coated glass, it has proper transmittance for visible light, high reflectivity for infrared and high reflectivity for ultraviolet. It is mainly used for building curtain wall glass. In addition, low radiation glass has high transmittance to visible light, high reflectivity to infrared light, and good heat insulation performance. It is mainly used in construction, automobile, ship and other means of transportation. Due to the poor film strength, it is generally made into insulating glass. The most widely used coating glasses are heat reflecting glass and low radiation glass. The vacuum magnetron sputtering method and chemical vapor deposition method are basically used.

Ordinary glass is silicate. It's right to say that only pure quartz glass and SiO2 are the main ones. Optical fiber is not ordinary glass, please note: optical fiber is quartz glass, the main component is SiO2. Glass in chemistry books refers to ordinary glass, that is, silicate glass.

Cleaning and maintenance of coated glass

The surface residue on the visible MSVD reflective film can be removed with a clean, lint free cloth and commercial solvents such as paint thinner, mineral alcohol or isopropanol. Household dishwashing detergent should not be used. Care must be taken to ensure that solvents and residues have no effect on the membrane. Use small sample for cleaning test to determine whether the residue and solvent damage the membrane.

When machine washing, the coated glass must not stop under the cleaning brush, because it will damage the film. Because the hardness of the brush of each cleaning machine may be different, through the detection of the film after cleaning to determine whether the brush of the cleaning machine causes damage to the film. When cleaning coated glass with MSVD low radiation film, it is better not to use circulating water, because these films are very sensitive to pH value. If circulating water is used, the pH value should be monitored

Finally, demineralization or deionized water should be used when spraying coated glass to ensure no residue when drying. Because the process of using demineralized or deionized water may improve the corrosivity of water, the samples should be tested in water. After confirming that there is no harmful reaction, trial production should be conducted before large-scale production to determine whether the water works normally in the system.

The temperature and pH of the cleaning solution are related. At lower pH value (acidic), increasing temperature will accelerate the destruction reaction of acid. The washing solution should be tested at the same production temperature. If cleaning the glass without film, the water temperature should not be higher than 140 ℃. F(60℃)。
